Chapter 19: Stay With Me
Word Count: 1823John and Alec were in the car, driving towards the Downing household. Alec was surprised Samantha was letting him back in the house because he was ninety nine percent sure that she hated him. Make that one hundred percent.
He had a small smile on his face at the thought of seeing Ethan out in the open. Sneaking around wasn't as fun as you would think
They pulled up to the large house and Alec unbuckled himself, practically jumping out of the car. John chucked and shook his head, "slow down before you trip over."
"Can't help that I'm excited to see my boyfriend." Alec responded, waving his hand to hurry John up. The older man slowly got out of the car before they walked up to the front door.
Alec leaned forward and grabbed the handle, ready to just open it when John grabbed him and pulled him back. "You're supposed to knock first, kid." He said.
The teenager rolled his eyes and knocked on the door with exaggeration. John gave him a look as the door opened and they came face to face with Pierce. Alec pursed his lips, feeling a little bit awkward. He hadn't spoken to Pierce since he dropped him off at John's house.
"Hey guys. Glad you could make it." Pierce smiled softly before stepping aside and letting the two walk in.
Alec looked around the familiar house, feeling a sense of dread. The last time he was here, he had been kicked out so it wasn't his fault he was so uncomfortable. "Where's Ethan?" He asked.
"It's nice to see you to, Alec. I'm good. Thank you for asking." Pierce said in a joking tone. He was acting a lot less tense and it was confusing Alec as to why he was being so welcoming. "He's upstairs. Told him I would come and get him when you got here."
Alec nodded and walked towards the stairs, ready to go up when a figure in the corner of his eye stopped him. Samantha Downing stood with her arms crossed and her usual sneer. He didn't bother saying anything to her. He had nothing to say.
"Ethan!" Pierce yelled, making Alec jump from the sudden noise in the awkwardly quiet room. "Alec is here! Come down!"
The sound of footsteps filled his ear and he smiled widely when Ethan came running down the stairs and jumped into his arms, hugging him tightly and placing a kiss on his lips.
The fact that they had an audience was at the back of Alec's mind and all he could focus on was the boy in his arms that was kissing him. He pulled away from the kiss and breathed a sigh of happiness. "Hey, beautiful." He greeted.
"I missed you." Ethan whispered back, interlocking their fingers. "Hi, John." He greeted the older man.
"Ethan." John responded kindly.
Ethan focused his attention back on Alec and began to pull him towards the backyard. "Come with me outside." He and Alec moved towards the door before leaving into the sunny backyard.
