Chapter 7: You Can't Control Me
Word Count: 1456Knock, knock. The two simple sounds made Alec snap up in bed, eyes widening when he heard Pierce calling out to Ethan and asking if she could come in. "Shit." He muttered, him and Ethan sharing terrified look. "Where do I hide?"
"Hold on dad!" Ethan called, standing up quickly, eyes darting around him room, until he looked at the space under his bed. It was small but he was sure Alec could fit. "Get under the bed."
Alec frowned, seeing the small space but there was no time to look for another spot. Pierce was starting to get impatient. He dropped to his stomach and crawled under the bed, his back pressing tightly against the roof. Luckily, he just fit.
Ethan picked up the shirt he had discarded the night before and threw it over his head, nearly tripping on his way to the door before opening it with a big, fake smile. "Hey dad! What's up?"
Pierce laughed, "what's got you so flustered?"
"Nothing. I was just..." He paused and shook his head, trying to relieve some of the nervousness in his voice and face. "Nothing. What's up?" He repeated.
"Well, you don't want to sleep your life away! Your mum made breakfast so get downstairs, I'm gonna go wake up Alec. He's sleeping in to but that boy always sleeps in. I swear he loves sleep more than being awake."
Ethan's eyes widened, "wait!" He stopped him. "I'll wake him up. I wanted to talk to him about hanging out with my friends again." His lie seemed believable and he held back a sigh of relief when Pierce nodded.
"Sure. We got eggs and bacon waiting for me down stairs. Tell that to Alec, that might make getting him up easier." If only he knew, Alec was already up and currently hiding under his sons bed after spending the night with him. He walked away and it was when he was out of eyesight that Ethan could finally breath properly.
He walked back into his room and closed the door, leaning his back up against it. "That was close."
Alec slid out from under the bad, hitting his head as he did. He flinched, bringing his hand up to rub the now sore spot. "Ow. Shit. That really was close but on the bright side, that was one of the best sleeps I've ever had."
"I'm glad I can give you good sleeps." Ethan laughed, walking over to him and pecking his lips. "Good morning."
"Hmm. Good morning."
He went to kiss him again but Ethan held up his hand, blocking him. "If you kiss me again, we're never leaving this room and I don't want dad to come looking for us again." He smiled brightly as Alec pouted. "Come back tonight."
Alec perked up at that. "Really?"
"Yeah. I might not be ready to go all the way but I'm into doing other things and definitely into more cuddling."
