"Really Kapanen?" I yelled, throwing my phone on the couch and standing up
"He's not home." Auston said, coming down from the stairs.
I sighed and sat back down, staring out the window.
"What did he do now?" Auston chuckled, sitting down next to me.
"Nothing important."
"Like usual." We said at the same time.
Auston and I broke out into a laughing fit until we were interrupted by a phone ringing.
Auston checked his phone.
He looked at me and shrugged before standing up and answering it.
"Hello?"
"Yes this is him."
"Oh my gosh really?"
"Okay. Yup. See you then."
He turned to me, smiling as bright as can be.
"What?" I smirked, standing up to walk next to him.
"They want me to be captain!" His eyes glowed as bright as they used to glow when he got Legos for Christmas.
I loved seeing my brother this happy.
It made me happy.
"No way! I'm so proud of you!" I brought him into a hug.
"I need to go tell Mitch!"
"Why can't you just-" I started before being interrupted by a excited Auston.
"This has to be in person because they want him as Assistant Captain!"
No. Fricking. Way.
"No way! That's so fricking amazing. I'm so proud of you guys." He smiled as he grabbed his keys and headed for the door.
"Tell Marner I said hi. And that I'm happy for him."
Auston nodded quickly, and without thinking about the meaning behind my words, sprinted out the door.
