"Hey Ella. Are you coming to the game today?" My brother asked me.
"Yeah. I already bought tickets." I smiled, getting up from my place at the bar in our house.
"Tickets? Who else is coming?"
"Oh. Mat is coming with me."
"That's good. Don't forget to wear your Matthews jersey." He chuckled as he walked away to get his gear ready.
I rolled my eyes and headed upstairs.
Opening my closet, I scanned all of the blue Maple Leafs stuff I had.
Shoved in the very back of my closet, was my Matthews jersey.
I shrugged, throwing it on my bed and heading towards the bathroom.
"See you at the game!" Auston called from downstairs.
"See you."I slipped on the jersey over a plain black hoodie I had and I put my wallet in my back pocket.
Grabbing my keys and trudging out the front door, all I could think about is how the Leafs are going to kick the Coyotes ass.
Yes they were technically my home team but what did I care.
I was born in San Ramon, California and at an early age my family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona.
Auston and I were fans of the Coyotes for most of our life, until we moved to Toronto.I met up with Mat and we took our seats near the Leafs bench.
"How are you?" I asked, taking his hat off of his head and putting it on myself.
"I'm good. How are you?" His voice softened like it always does when he asks that.
"I'm okay. Just ready to see some ass kicked." He smiled as I fixed his hair and put his hat back on.
"Do I look okay?" Mathew rolled his eyes and chuckled.
"You look fucking hot." I laugh, kicking him in the shin.
I could feel some of the Leafs players looking at us. I turned to them and smiled, until I caught Mitch's eye.
I smirked and sent a small wink to him.
I could tell he was trying to hold back a smile, but all he did was shake his head and turn back to Morgan Rielly.Auston was heading down the rink, to the left, to the right... AND GOAL!
I jumped up and screamed as loud as I could. He hugged Marner and Nylander and skated over to the bench for high fives. He sat down on the bench in front of me and turned around.
He held his hand up on the glass and I slapped the glass where his hand was.
Auston turned to Mat and nodded.
One more period left. All of a sudden, everyone was up and out of their seats. I scanned my eyes across the rink until I got to the left side of the rink.
"Is that..." I started.
"Mitch Marner and Josh Archibald." Mat finished for me.
Worry filled my eyes as Archibald slammed Mitch onto the ground. He soon got up and punched Josh in the face. He got in a good few punches before the ref pulled them apart. I could see the blood from my seat but I was guessing it was just from Josh Archibald.
Mitch did his little celly, as he did technically win, then skated over to the penalty box.
I got up from my seat, handing Mat my phone.
Sitting behind the Leafs penalty box, I knocked on the glass.
Mitch turned around, his nose busted and blood dripping from it.
My eyes widened and Mitch quickly realized my concern.
"I'm okay." I could hear him through the glass.
I nodded and high-fived him through the glass.
I moved back to my seat to finish watching the game with Mat."That was a good game." I smiled.
Mat nodded with agreement.
"Hate to say it but they may be better than our team." He smirked, his voice in a whisper.
I laughed and linked arms with him.
"Let's go meet up with Auston."
