"Dad!"
Lauren screams in terror.Caitlin drops to her knees and tears were welling her eyes,her hands were over her mouth as she stared at the spot where the portal,her dad was.
Lauren and Andy turn to the dizzy and tired Clarice,Lauren grasps her by the shoulders harshly.
"We need to go back there!Teleport us bavk there please!"
Pleads the 17 year old who's undying concern was going over the edge.I pulled Lauren back when i realise that Clarice wasn't looking ok.
"Clarice?What's wrong?"
I asked which caught the attention of John and Marcos who's names i learnt earlier on.
"I've never teleported that f-"
Clarice wasn't able to finish her sentence when she collapsed to the ground,i widened my eyes.
"Clarice!"
I scream.John and Marcos dash towards her,John picks her up bridal style and runs to the infirmary.Me,Andy,Caitlin and Lauren follow behind.
Marcos looks back at the family,knowing that they will still be stubborn and ask to go back.
"Listen,your Father was my ticket to getting my Girlfriend back.I want to go back there too believe me but look at Clarice.Shems our best shot at getting there and in her state?Not anytime soon."
Marcos said in an annoyed but serious voice.
Caitlin and Lauren stayed near Clarice but Andy stormed off,the fact that he couldn't go back and save his Dad was eating him inside.
Caitlin looks at Andy sympathetically and looks at me,i nod.
"I'll talk to him."
I say and run off after him,cursing at myself for my short body which means short legs and equals slow running.
"Andy wait up!"
i scream from behind him.He doesn't stop and continues raging away to the exit.i dash after him,grabbing his wrist.He turns around harshly amd gives me a look with his clenched jaw.
"What.What do you want Tori?!"
He says with a mad tone.I'll admit,i felt a pang of hurt hit me like a bullet but that didn't matter now.
"Why are you so mad?!That girl can't teleport and we pushed her to her limit!We canmt do anything!"
I scream at him,trying to convince him to stop being so moody and put his big boy pants on.Trying to convince him that we will get Reed,just not today.
"Tori,my Dad is with those bastards!Imagine what they will do with him!"
He snaps back at me.
His anger causes the ground to shake around us,he appears as if he is attempting to intimidate me,trying to make me go.For some reason,the ground below me is the most affected one of all.
"Leave me alone!"
His scream sends a telekinetic force to throw me backwards roughly.I coughed on the ground in harsh pain.I see him looking at me with a deadly glare.I get the hint and nod sadly,looking down and poking my inner cheek with my tongue then look back up at him sadly.I chuckle in a concerning tone.
"Atleast you have a father."
I mutter out.He looks at me and realises what he's done to me and sees tears threatening to fall from my eyes.
My father,was a mutant.Infact he had the exact same powers as i have shown.Telekinesis.My mother,fell inlove with him despite the fact that he was a mutant and Human+Mutant wasn't a likely combination during those times.I was extremely close to him,i would practise my powers with him and he taught me how to play the piano and almost everything i know up to now.Then,like a truck,he called the whole family and passed me and my mother a paper.We didn't have to understand,we didn't want to.All that we saw which was clear were bold words that said
Cancer.
In the middle of the paper.His new home was the hospital,they would stick tubes into him and treat him rudely all because he was a mutant.I was 6 at the time,i would wonder why life isn't fair.Then,one day me and my mother decided to visit him.I had won an award and medal in music because of the song he taught me on the piano.Mother said to visit him and make him proud,we entered the room.Only to see him laying down emotionlessly,his eyes closed and motionless.He died.We held his funeral a week later.My life felt broken since then,but it all turned to ash when my Mother commited suicide,wanting to be with her lover once again.
