Soraru woke up with a jolt as he clenched his chest. It was just a nightmare. The raven-haired sighed as he felt his heart still beat fast. The dark room was silent, the moon shined bright as the stars glowed in the dark, blue sky. He looked at the clock to see that is was 2:45 am. He was beginning to calm his heart beat and relax until another person's voice filled the room, scaring him a bit.
"You okay Soraru?" The raven-haired male jumped again in shock, but then glared at the person who had just spoken.
"Don't scare me like that Urata." The mentioned male just mischievously laughed.
"Fine. But in all seriousness, are you okay?" The brunette looked at his friend with concern as Soraru sighed.
"I'm fine, it was just a nightmare."
"Was it that?"
The raven-haired stayed silent at the question, the brunette could tell what the dream was and floated, yes floated, towards the raven-haired to pat him on the back comfortably.
"Thanks Urata."
"No problem."
"I just wish I was able to go back and stop that."
"Don't blame yourself, even if you tried to go back it'd be a waste. You can't go any further than the moment after it happened."
You see ever since that day, Soraru had been able to rewind time whenever he wanted. He was gifted with the ability that he desperately wished for at the time, but he sometimes hates it. Along with his wish to rewind time, he wished that his friend would still be alive. The brunette was then gifted with the ability to continue living, though as a ghost, and only Soraru can see and communicate with him. Urata was still able to hold things in his ghost form, he's even able to age so it wasn't like he was dead dead, more as if he was just transparent and others couldn't touch him but he can touch them.
As for Soraru, all he had to do to reset time was to just concentrate about it and the tattoo on his arm would change color. He had found out about that tattoo the days after the incident, it was a black angel wing that would change to white when he was rewinding time. People would see the black angel wing and compliment it by saying it looks great. Soraru would embarrassingly thank them though for him personally, he'd just frown whenever he sees it. It's like the tattoo is mocking him and reminding him on how he failed as a friend.
"Well guess you should go to sleep."
"Yeah, good night Urata." The raven-haired male went back into his blanket and closed his eyes. He fell asleep quickly, as the nightmare had tired him mentally.
Urata just looked at his friend's sleeping body, being a ghost meant that he wasn't tired, though he would sometimes close his eyes to rest. He saw how peaceful the raven-haired male looked like and frowned. Guess it still haunts him. He felt a bit guilty as he was the reason his best friend is suffering from nightmares. The brunette sighed and looked out at the night sky.
Soraru was walking towards the school, his parents had decided to move to another town so he had to switch schools. He was grateful because their old town haunted him, it was a reminder of that day that he never wanted to remember. Urata was following the raven-haired, bragging about how great it was to be a ghost since he doesn't have to worry about getting tired.
"You only boast about being a ghost when it suits you." Soraru mumbled as the brunette smirked.
Soraru was always careful when talking to Urata, he didn't want people to see him talking to himself and think he's crazy. He'd either mumble quietly or telepathically talk to the brunette. Yes telepathically, you see Soraru's life is anything but normal. It has changed a lot, all because of a desperate, at the moment wish and a little twist in fate.
