Three knocks sounded on Ryan's door as she paced her living room, a black box with her name on it sitting on the floor with the same dead man stench. Only her roses weren't halfway dead, they were all the way eaten by decay and limp to the point where she didn't even know they were flowers.

"Who is it?" She called from the other side of the door, her voice muffled by the sweater that covered it.

"It's Kashaun" Kaid muttered from the other side of the door with his hands tucked in his sweater. The weather was cold in New Jersey as it was in New York.

"Oh thank God!" Ryan exclaimed swinging her door open to let him in. "Fetty's been gone all day, he's not answering his phone and this package just popped up in front of my door and none of my cameras caught who left it so I- I don't know"

"Calm down Ma I got one too" Kaid sighed placing his keys on the key holder next to the front door. "His keys are still here?"

"Yes...his car's in the garage too I don't know where he could be, he dropped Carter off and next thing I know everything of his is here but he isn't" Ryan sniffled. "Ugh that smell I can't take it"

"I'll put it outside"

Kaid did as he said he would and before he knew it, he and Ryan were in the kitchen, silently eating slices of cheesecake Ryan had in the fridge. Over the years, Ryan had gotten over the fact that Noonie was leaving her behind, and with the whole situation with Derek, Ryan knew their relationship was too far gone.

Her and Kaid got closer after Noonie pregnancy was announced and Ryan became more of a Mother to Kaid than Kali had ever been.

"Did my little girl get one of these?" She quietly asked.

"I don't know to be honest" Kaid sighed. "She's hard-headed so if she did contacting me is probably last on her list"

"It's crazy how tough she is now" Ryan teared up. "She hasn't seen her brother in months and she won't answer any of my calls or texts"

"She's still healing ma"

"I know I know...how many days away, is it? I can never remember the exact date" Ryan asked attempting to stop her tears from flowing anymore.

"My Goddaughter birthday is tomorrow so the anniversary is in two days...I hope we can get through it" Kaid sighed as Ryan continued to cry.

Kaid got up from his seat to hug Ryan, allowing her tears to stain his clothes.

"Sorry...sorry I'm a mess" She shrugged pushing Kaid away from her a bit. "If you can please just make sure she's okay, I went through something similar at her age so I can imagine what she's going through, it's not pretty"

"I got you" Kaid muttered, tossing his plate in the trash. "But I do gotta ask, is Fetty behind these packages?"

Ryan rubbed her lips a bit, looking around the kitchen before sighing.

"If I'm being honest Kaid I don't know...he could be, but if he was why would I be getting one?"

"A cover. Just to say you got one so it can't be him" Kaid explained. "This letter came with my package and I can't tell you what it says until you do some snooping on him just to make sure"

"Ok yeah, I can do that...tell Noonie I love her and I miss her" Ryan sighed giving Kaid a heartfelt hug. "You're a good man Shaun"

Kaid allowed Ryan to embrace him before leaving her home. He dialed Noonie's number once more and placed the phone by his ears. His leg jumped as the phone rang and once it connected Kaid parted his lips to speak.
