Noonie's eyes fluttered open.
Forgetting where she was, she glanced around, attempting to stretch before a pair of arms stopped her. That's when it hit her that she was in Kaid's room, being held, by him.
"Kaid" She called out, squirming in his grasp, tapping onto his strong arm so that he'd let her go. "I need to pee"
"Hm," Kaid murmured, caressing Noonie's arm. His mouth falling slightly open as he slept.
"Get up" Noonie spoke a little louder, tapping his arms a little harder.
Kaid kissed his teeth, releasing Noonie from his grip and turning to the other side of the bed.
Sliding off of the bed, Noonie adjusted her bonnet, studying Kaid's face as she stood, a small smile covering her face. After the kiss, Kaid and Noonie sat and talked until they were tired, leading them both into his bedroom.
After Noonie released her bladder and did her morning hygiene, she found her way right back under Kaid, her leg around his torso and his arms wrapped around her body.
She felt his breath blow softly on her forehead, tugging him a little closer as the endorphins rushed through her brain.
"You awake?" His chest vibrated as he spoke.
It took Noonie a while to speak, she didn't know if she was ready to ruin this moment.
"Yeah"
Silence filled the room once more. Kaid's breathing picked up, signaling that he was once more falling asleep.
"Kaid?"
"Yeah?"
"You okay?"
"Tired" He grumbled.
"Oh...can I ask a question?"
Letting out a low sigh, Kaid removed his arms from around Noonie, turning his head the same time as she so that they were facing each other.
Noonie bit down on her bottom lip, staring Kaid straight in the eye. "Did you ever believe me? When I told you I never cheated?"
Kaid rested his hand on Noonie's side, propping his head up with his other. He took his time to answer her question, replaying that stage of his life in his head.
"If I'm being honest, no, I didn't believe you for a while...but I wanted to"
Noonie nodded her head, her eyes never leaving Kaid's face. "Do you believe me now?"
This time, Kaid didn't hesitate to nod his head, his own eyes glued to Noonie's face.
"I didn't want to believe you back then because it was easier not to" Kaid admitted.
"What do you mean?"
"It's hard to put into words...It's like...you was coming off so strong you know? Saying you love me all the time, taking care of me and the girls and just being there all the time. It was too much for me."
"Coming off too strong?" Noonie scoffed. "I didn't just fall into a relationship with myself Kaid"
Noonie removed Kaid's hand from her side, sitting up on his bed and scooting her way out.
"Hold up, wait" Kaid urged, grabbing hold of Noonie's wrists. "Now you can't just ask me how I feel and get mad at me when I tell you the truth. Just listen." He pleaded.
