"I can't believe that just worked" Kaid whispered, a smirk on his face as he sat on his couch, glancing over at a sleeping Kasai.
It's been a few hours since they scooped her up and the first thing she wanted to do was rest. The sky was beginning to fade and the weather cooled.
"Don't get your hopes up yet, we still have a judge to get through, and don't forget we still need to find Katari" Noonie sighed. She sat right next to Kaid, watching over the child as well.
"You know" Kaid declared "I wouldn't have been able to do this without you Noon"
Noonie's eyes never left Kasai's frame, a small smile creeping on her face.
"It's getting late. I should get going" Noonie declared, grabbing her things and rising from the couch.
"Wait I-" Kaid hesitated. "Can you stay?"
"You're nervous, I get that. Just remember that she won't be the same little girl you knew years ago. Talk to her, get to know her." Noonie explained. "Now if you'll excuse me, I want to sleep in my own bed for once" She chuckled.
Kaid watched as she walked to the door, biting the insides of his cheeks. "Wait...come here"
Noonie smirked, making her way towards Kaid.
He lifted from the couch, wrapping his hands around Noonie's waist to pull her close.
"Goodnight. Call me when your foot is in the door so I know you good, alright? Be safe." Kaid directed.
"I will" Noonie blushed. "Have a good night yourself Shaun" She planted a soft kiss on his lips and then another and another. She danced across them until she knew she had to stop, hooking her arms around Kaid's waist just as he did her.
Kaid rubbed the back of his neck, smirking at Noonie's antics. "What was that for?"
"No reason." Noonie laughed. "See you tomorrow"
Kaid walked Noonie to the door, his hands stuffed in his pockets, shutting and locking the door after she'd gone.
"What do I do now?" He asked himself, blowing a raspberry into the air, tasting the mint of Noonie's lipgloss on his tongue.
Kasai was still sleeping, tossing and turning every once and a while.
Deciding it was best to wait on her, Kaid sat on the couch next to Kasai, pulling out his phone and sending a couple of important texts.
His job had become less of a priority to him these days. Jino was handling the hard things for Kaid and keeping everything and everybody in line, in return, Kaid took care of his family.
After messing around on his phone for a little, Kaid decided to call Xiomara.
The phone rang for just a little before Xiomara's sleeping face appeared. Her hair was wrapped, face bare and a sleeping Ana's arm wrapped around her neck.
"What?" She grumbled, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.
"Hey" Kaid laughed. "No work tonight?"
"No...which is why I'm trying to sleep"
"My baby over there?" Kaid asked, adjusting his head on the arm of his couch.
"Yeah and I think she's trying to strangle me" Xiomara laughed peeling her daughter's arm off of her. "I don't know what I'm gonna do Kaid. It's been too quiet around here"
