"Say 'mama' buddy!" You laughed in amusement as your 9 month old son stared blankly at your...girlfriend? Cuddle buddy? Friend with benefits? You pushed those thoughts out of your mind for mother time, choosing instead to smile at the way Camila was interacting with your baby boy.

"I don't think babies start talking until they're abut a year old Cami, give him some time," you chuckled, scooting over to her and resting your head on her shoulder. Camila took that as an invitation to wrap her arm around your waist, something she did slowly and with caution until she realized that you weren't going to push her away.

See, you and Camila had an interesting relationship, to say the least. She was your best friends cousin and you had never really spent any time with her Neil the night that lead to Elijah. Your friend was throwing a random party and you had drank a little bit too much. The next thing you knew, you were waking up naked next to Camila, and uncomfortable sticky feeling between your legs. 2 months later you found out that you were pregnant. You got in touch with Camila only to find out that she was already in a relationship and other than offering to help with money, she was completely disinterested in you and your unborn baby.

It was hard but with the support of your family, you married it through the remainder of the pregnancy. The only contact you had with Camila was her sending you reimbursements for any medical bills relating to the baby that she was so adamant about wanting nothing to do with. It hurt you to not have someone there to hold your hand when Elijah was born, but that was all forgotten the first time you held your beautiful baby in your arms.

Needless to say, you were beyond shocked when an incredibly distraught Camila showed up at your door, begging profusely for forgiveness and a chance to meet her son. You couldn't really explain why, but you instantly forgave her without even taking time to think about all the pain she had caused you in the past few months. It had been 3 months since she showed up, and somewhere along the way the line between her just being the 'other parents' and her completing your little family became very blurred. It was hard to put a label on it, but for now you could settle with being happy by being the recipient of her kisses and cuddles, and watching how much she loved Elijah.

Camila was softly running her fingers through your hair when a knock on the door distracted you. "Can you get that, babe?," you asked Camila. "I think our little man needs his diaper changed." She smiled and nodded, standing up and kissing you quickly before walking out to see who was at the door.

While you were waiting for her to get back, you made quick work of Elijahs diaper, cooing softly as he entertained himself by staring at his hands and wriggling his fingers. "Come on Eli, let go see who's at the door with mama."

You picked him up and started walking to the front door. It was a little concerning to you about how quiet everything was, so you started walking a bit faster to make sure that everything was okay. Once you saw Camila, you were a little confused as to why she was jus standing completely still and had such a tight grip on the door that her knuckles were turning white.

"Mila? Who is it?," you questioned, walking up behind her and peeking over her shoulder. You nearly chocked when you saw who it was, not really expecting your mom to come and visit. She usually warned you a few days in advance, probably in an attempt to give you enough time to clean up and make your place look somewhat presentable. However, that was definitely not what you were concerned about right now.

Your mom hated Camila. Like, absolutely despised her very existence. As soon as she found out that Camila wasn't going to support you, she pretty much wanted to kill her. And judging from the look in her eyes, those feelings hadn't left. The worst thing was that you and your mom generally had a really strong relationship so it was probably offensive to her that she was unaware about Camila returning, and that you were quite possibly in love with her.

"Mom, what are you doing here?," you asked while handing Elijah over to Camila You internally cringed when your mom glared at the sight of Camila holding her precious grandson. "What am I doing here? How about you explain to me what she's doing here!," she all but snarled, stepping into the house which made Camila slightly stumble backwards in fear.

"I'm just gonna go wait upstairs," Camila mumbled, scurrying upstairs before you could protest. Your mom just scoffed m reply, rolling her eyes to show how annoyed she was. You knew that you needed to talk to your mom, and end though you really wanted Camila right next to you for comfort, it was probably a good idea that she stayed upstairs for a bit.

As soon as your mom heard the sound of the bedroom door closing upstairs, she turned to you with an icy glare. "Really Y/N? Where you actually so desperate that you forgave someone as deplorable as her?," she seethed, causing you to become self conscious by eyeing your outfit that consisted only of one of Camila's shirts and a pair of panties. "Tell me: how do you know he isn't just using you for easy se? Do I need to remind you that she thought it was completely fine to abandon you when you needed her most?"

You closed your eyes and tried to block out the harsh words of your mother. She was nonstop insulting you and Camila, and you had to put a stop to it before she ended up saying something that you wouldn't be able to forgive her for.

"Mom, stop! Yes, Camila left me alone but I swear she's changed. You don't get to see her the way I do. She's so loving and caring, and just so different from the Camila that she used to be. She takes care of me and she takes care of my baby, my baby that I had with her and I just know that she's right for me. If you can't understand that then please leave. You're stressing me out way too much." You took a deep breath when you finished talking, watching with sad eyes as she turned around and left.

Hearing the front door slam shut, Camila immediately camila rushing down to see what had happened. "Y/N? Is everything okay?," she gingerly asked which bouncing Elijah on her side. You blinked quickly to get rid of any tears before turning to face her with a small smile. "We had a little argument but I know she'll probably be back tomorrow and she'll be a little more understanding. Mila, I love you, okay?"

She smiled cutely, stepping closer to you and hugging you with the arm that wasn't occupied by Elijah. You flushed when you realized that you had just said "I love you" for the first time. What if it was too soon and what if she didn't feel he same way? You started to panic, something Auden quickly picked up on.

"Her, you need to chill a bit. For me, please?," she whispered. Her soothing tone already had you feeling better so you took a deep breath and looked into her eyes. "I love you too, so much more than I ever thought I could love anyone. And holy shit, we have a baby together. I think that alone makes me love you a million times more. I know I fucked up a lot, but I'm going to spend forever making sure you know how much I love you and our baby boy."
