Uncomfortable. That was easily the first word you would use to describe how you felt if anyone asked. They wouldn't, but you still held on on to a small shred of hope that someone would. You wished that somebody, literally anyone, in this restaurant would take 5 seconds of their day to ask how you were feeling. There had to be somebody in here that could tell you weren't okay, right?

The girl sitting on the opposite side of the table was saying something but all you could focus on was the bit of food that she still had in her mouth. Was it really so hard to swallow before talking? Apparently it was for her.

You wished that it was Camila sitting across from you. She would probably be feeling some stupid joke to make you laugh or pointing out something weird that someone was doing. She would be making up stories about the people sitting at the other tables, making you giggle uncontrollably at her wild imagination.

Camila hated when people talked with their mouths full. She also never checked her phone while on a date witch was something that your date was currently doing. Why couldn't it be Camila sitting with you?

Oh, right. It's your fault that you were on a date with someone that wasn't Camila. You let your damn insecurities control how you felt and they convinced you that Camila didn't really love you even though she professed it hundreds of times each and every day. Would the girl at the table with you right now do that? Would she say "I love you" to your face and then go and fuck someone else?

"No," you had to remind yourself. That's not what Camila was doing. Camila said "I love you" and then rolled over and fell asleep in the same bed and probably dreamed about you because she did truly love you. It was you who pushed Camila away when you were at your lowest and needed her the most, not being able to handle the thought of her being the first tp leave. It was you who refused to answer any of her phone calls after you told her that you might need some space, ignoring her for weeks until she finally decided to let you be.

And now you were stuck here on a date with someone that was everything Camila wasn't, and that was definitely not a good thing. She could never be the girl you fell in love with but couldn't ignore your annoying insecurities, and you knew that she would never be the girl that makes you smile every day. That was what Camila used to be, but now she's the girl who you cry over because you pushed her away when all she wanted to do was keep you close.
