"I'm going to vomit," you stated dramatically, tossing your arm over your eyes. Camila chuckled at how over dramatic you were being but didn't take her eyes off of the road. She did reach out to take your hand in hers, so at least that was somewhat comforting.

"What? No you're not," she laughed. You huffed loudly, upset that she wasn't seeing things from your point of view. She had been just as nervous when meeting your parents, so you were a little bit annoyed as to why she couldn't understand how you felt.

"I promise it won't be that bad. They'll just ask about your family and work, no biggie," she shrugged. "Camila, that's the problem! I'm sure they'll hate the fact that I'm a stripper, so any questions they do ask will probably be demeaning. I don't really blame them though; who would want their daughter to be dating a stripper?"

Camila nodded while shifting uncomfortably in her seat. You stared at her, trying to figure out the reason for her weird mood change. You were about to demand that she tell you what was wrong when it suddenly hit you, causing a loud gasp to come out of your mouth.

"Oh my God. Camila! You haven't told them what I do, have you?" Camila looked over at you with a sheepish expression before turning her eyes back to the road. "It just hasn't come up! I'm positive they won't mind since they raised me not to judge people. Besides, my dad isn't exactly ashamed of how often he used to go to strip clubs," she said as she tried to make you relax but you really doubted her words. There was no time to argue with her though, seeing as how she pulled into the driveway of what you assumed was her parents house.

She rushed over to your side of the car but you just used her away when she tried to help you out, not really ready to forgive her. "Y/N, come on. I don't want them to think we fight all the time," she pleaded. You sighed indignantly but let her grab your hand anyway. It was just in time too, because the front door swung open before Camila even had a chance to knock.

You were caught off guard when you were pulled into a bone crushing hit by who you figured was her mom. "Please don't freak her out," Camila whined, trailing in behind you and closing the door. Her mom let you go rather reluctantly, giving you an apologetic smile.

"You're so much prettier than I thought! What is such a beautiful girl like you doing with my Camilita?" Sinu said, ushering you and Camila into the living room where her father sat watching TV. Camila groaned loudly at her teasing statement but you just laughed nervously. Would she say the dame thing when she found out what you didn't for a living?

"Don't be rude Ale, introduce yourself," SInu scolded. Camila's dad turned the TV off then turned to face you an your girlfriend. "Y/N, is it? Camila's been talking about you nonstop since she met you." His calm demeanor caused you to relax just a bit, but you accepted that it probably wouldn't be a one lasting feeling.

"Actually, she told us that she met you while you were working. What is it that you do? I don't think Camila ever told us what it is, and if she did then it must've slipped my mind." Oh God, there it was. Either you lied to them now and figured out how to maintain the lie, or told the truth. In your opinion, both of them lead to her parents hating you, but there was really nothing you could do.

"Um, I work in a club...I'm a dancer," you mumbled. It's not that you were ashamed of your job, you were actually quite proud. You made good money and it was nowhere near as easy as most people assumed. It was physically exhausting and you had to deal with some of the most obnoxious people on the face of the Earth, but you figured it just made you a better person.

Neither of her parents said anything for several long agonizing minutes. Camila squeezed your hands in hers but all you could think about was how yet another relationship was about to be ruined because of your job choice. Camila made you so happy that you were genuinely praying for things to be okay. You had prepared yourself for the worst when her dad finally decided to break the silence.

"That's amazing! I remember going to the clubs when I was younger and being surprised at how classy most of them actually were," he said, "and how beautiful the stri- uh, dancers were." Sinu lightly slapped his arm when she heard his last remark but the smile that she sent your way seemed genuine.

"Honey, were you ashamed to tell us?" You nodded, embarrassed while also shocked that they actually reacted positively. "Ay, Karla. You need to do a better job at making your girlfriend feel secure," her mom scolded, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. Camila huffed at the playful glare that both of her parents were giving her.

"I tried telling her that you wouldn't care what she did, so it's not my fault that she wouldn't listen!" Both you and her parents laughed at Camila's attempt to defend herself. You couldn't help but feel indescribable happy. You finally had a girlfriend who you loved and that respected your job, and her parents were fine with it too. Maybe this was finally the start of the happily ever after that you had searched for your whole life.
