"Mila, stop it," you whispered, trying to be as stern as possible while suppressing a giggle. Your best friend sat next to you n the couch, glaring at your boyfriend who was completely captivated by the football game that he was currently watching. "I hate him," she huffed, "he hold be paying attention to you." Though you couldn't deny that she was tight, you also felt inclined to defend your boyfriend.
"He's a guy, Mila. Just let him be, okay?" You looked at her with an eyebrow raised, waiting to see if she would give in to you. She sighed, making you think that the conversation was over, but to your surprised she instead rapidly stood up.
"I'm actually going to get going and let you two spend some time together, Besides, I don't really enjoy being the third wheel."
Not even waiting for you to try and get her to stay or give you a hug like she normally would, she quickly escorted herself out. You sat there in shock, staring at the door which she had closed a bit too loudly for your liking. You knew Camila hated Mark, but she had never acted like that before. You were so deep in thought that you hadn't noticed him shitting the TV off and scooting over to be closer to you.
"Wanna go upstairs and have some fun? Or we could just do it here," he whispered in your ear, trying to be sexy but you couldn't help but feel annoyed. "Stop, Mark. Do you think Camila's okay?" you asked in concern for your best friend. He scoffed and removed his arm from around you and turned the TV back on. "She's just a dyke, babe. Forget about her."
You gasped in disgust and shock, having half a mind to slap him for calling Camila something so demeaning. "Don't ever talk about her like that. She cares more and treats me better than you ever could. You know what? Just go. Find someone who doesn't care about how disgusting you are. I'm so done with you."
You glared at him as he rolled his eyes but got up anyway, leaving the same way Camila had. The only thing he did differently was stopping for a brief moment to flip you off but you really weren't surprised, He had always been a bit of a douchebag, but he had gotten worse within the past few months. Turns out Camila was right and he definitely wasn't worth your time. But if he wasn't, than who was?
With that thought in mind and thinking you might actually know the answer, you stood up and didn't waste any time in leaving your house. You had to find Camila and you knew for a fact that she wasn't at her home a few doors down from yours. You turned in the opposite direction and started walking towards the neighborhood park where you and Camila often hung out. It didn't take you but 5 minutes to walk there, and once you arrived you immediately walked over to the tunnels where you knew Camila would be.
Sure enough, when you claimed inside you instantly caught a whiff of weed and saw your best friend with her head tilted back and eyes closed with a joint lazily held in between her fingers. "You know Mila, one of these days some suburban mom is going to complain about you lighting up in here," you teased, causing the brown eyed girl to snap open her eyes in surprise and instantly blush in embarrassment.
"Shit, Y/N, you scared the crap out of me," she said, flicking the used up joint to the side. You watched her every move, admiring how she automatically knew that you hated the smell of it. You couldn't help but smile about how much she cared about you.
"Mila, can I ask you something?" you questioned. She quickly nodded and looked at you curiously, waiting for you to continue. "Why...why do you hate Mark so much?" She didn't hesitate before firing off into a list of reasons why she so strongly disliked your now ex-boyfriend.
"He doesn't treat you right. He cares more about football and beer. He doesn't respect your boundaries and is always touching you in public and you're clearly uncomfortable with it. He isn't sweet to you or loving and caring like he should be. He's a dick and you need someone else, someone like-"
You cut her off by putting your hand over hers, which was tightly clenched. "Someone like you?" Her eyes snapped up and stared into yours, but you couldn't really read how she was feeling.
"Yeah Y/N, someone like me. I would treat you like a fucking princess and I think you already know that." She had more to say but you cut her off again, this time with a kiss. It took her a second or two before she started kissing back, but when she did, it was pure bliss, Her lips were soft and gently, and in that moment you wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of your life kissing her.
"Will you try with me? I want to be yours," you mumbled, feeling the butterflies in your stomach flutter harder when she smiled against your lips. "Of course, I'd literally do anything for you."
