There's a vibration in Bard's house. I look up just as some dust falls from the ceiling. Kaya begins moaning in pain again.

"You should leave us. Take your children; get out of here." I hear Fili tell Bard

"Where? There is nowhere to go." He asked us

"Are we going to die, Da?" Tilda asked

"No, darling." He tells her

"The dragon, it's going to kill us." She says

Bard looks worried for a moment, then reaches up and pulls something down that turns out to be a black arrow. His children look at the arrow in shock. "Not if I kill it first." He says walking out and his son soon follows him.

Later on, Bain came back. Then there's a noise on the roof. Just then Sigrid screams running in trying to slam the door, which is stopped by a sword. Another Orc strides inside. Oin starts throwing plates at its Ocrs head, just another Orc breaks through the roof and falls into the house.

The first orc at the door swings at one of Bard's girls, she falls backward onto the table benches. She slides under the table and pulls the bench sideways next to her as a shield. Fili grapples with an Orc. As another orc falls in through the roof, Bard's other girl helps Oin throw plates at the orc, then her sister pulls her under the table as well. Both girls scream as an Orc flips over the table they were hiding under. Another Orc leaps to the balcony in front of the house, but suddenly, Tauriel appears and stabs it in the throat with her knife. She pulls out her other knife as well and begins killing the Orcs in the house. Another elf jumps in through one of the holes in the roof and to begins killing Orcs.

Two of the Orcs approach me and Kaya. I try to keep both of them away from her, but as I fight off one Orc the other one manages to grab Kaya by her leg. I hear her scream in pain as she lands on her injured side on the floor, I killed the orc I was fighting then looked over to Kaya just as a knife is plunged into the Orc's throat that attacked her.

"Get down!" I hear Fili shout

Kaya somehow manages to stab an Orc with the knife from earlier, But then, she falls over onto the floor and howls in pain, I rush over to her worried.

"You killed them all," I hear Bain tell Tauriel and the other elf sounding amazed

"There are others. Tauriel, come." the elf with her says strides toward the door.

"We're losing her!" Oin says

I look back to Kaya to see her eyes closing. I feel a pain in my heart holding her close to me. Tauriel comes over to us. She tells us to put Kaya on the table then she starts to wash and tear apart the Athelas in a tub of water bought to her by one of Bard's daughters. As we pick up Kaya and lay her on the table as she thrashed in pain.

"Now hold her still," Tauriel says approaching us with the bowl of water then she examines Kaya's side. We look at her, as she closes her eyes and begins chanting in Elvish while she kneads the soaked Athelas in her hand, then presses it to the wound on Kaya's side. Then starts chanting again.

Kaya starts screaming and thrashing more in pain, we try and hold her down, but soon Sigrid jumps in to help hold her down. She calls her sister to come help as well. "Tilda!" She shouts and motions for her over

Tauriel continues chanting; Fili seems to look at her strangely, and Oin seems to be listening in amazement through his fairly dented hearing trumpet. Kaya begins calming down and seems to have fallen asleep

I looked up at Tauriel as she is covering Kaya's now healing wound up and walks around the table.

"May I ask why you helped her?" I asked walking up behind her

"She was dying and did not deserve to." She says cleaning her hands

"How can I ever thank you?"

"If you truly love her then care for her." She simply said pointing to Kaya

I nod and go over to Kaya to wait for her to wake.

Kaya's p.o.v.:
I slowly open my eyes and am half surprised to see Kili here

"Kili." I whimper as I try to sit up

"Kaya lie still please." He says gently pushing me down

I smile grabbing his hand and entwining our fingers. "You're really here."

He smiles laying his forehead on mine "Of course I am."

I close my eye taking in his scent and presence, when I hear sniffling, I open my eyes to see Kili crying.

"What is wrong, love?" I whisper letting go of his hand placing it on his cheek

He sadly smiles leaning into my touch pulling back a little placing his hand over mine "I thought we... I-I lost you." he says as I see him fighting more tears

I lean forward and give him a light kiss "I'm not going anywhere Kili, I promise."
