Chapter 23

I woke up in Colby's house.

"Why am I here?" I said sitting up on his couch. Sam looked at me and yelled.

"She's awake!" 

Colby came over to the couch and asked. "Are you okay?"

"Why am I here?"

"You blacked out, we saw you fall near the police and ambulance when that dude yelled at you while being dragged away, so we ran up to you and said we'd take you home."

"They let you take me home?"

"We told them you were in good hands, and if anything happened we'd immediately take you to the hospital." Sam said. I nodded my head.

"Okay." I responded. I immediately remembered what happened. "What happened to Rylee?!"

"Why do you care? I thought you hated him." Colby said.

"He saw me, my arms, he was actually worried, I saw him getting beaten and I didn't want that to happen for some odd reason. I just had to stop it. Where is he?"

"He was carried away in the ambulance that was there." Sam told me. 

"Bring me to the hospital."

"Why?" Colby asked.

"To check and see if anything is wrong with me(I said sarcastically). Of course not that! To check on Rylee ya dingus."

"I'll drive you." Sam said. I nodded at him and we got ready to go.

When we entered Rylee's room he was all bandaged up. He had a cast only on his right hand wrist, which is surprising because that man really beat the shit out of him. I walked up to the bed and his eyes opened.

"Oh, hey y/n."

"Hi, how are you?"

"I could be better but at least I don't feel anything with the pain medication they gave me. I'll definitely be able to feel it when it wears off." I saw his facial expression change a little. I think he saw Sam and Colby. "What're you guys doing here?"

"We didn't come here willingly. She dragged us here." Colby said.

"Why would you want to see me? I've done so much shit to you."

"I found out why you were going after me. The man said it just before he was put in a police car."

"Oh, okay. Do you forgive me?"

"Oddly enough, yeah. I do. He offered you money to leave this town if you killed me for him and you wanted the money so you said yes. I would want the money too."

"I felt really guilty doing all that stuff to you. But all I could think about was having that money and leaving this shitty town, I'm so sorry."

"It's okay. I knew you were a bully in the first place to them but. The stuff you did to me was way worse than making fun of."

"I know. I wish I could take back everything. Seriously." A tear slipped out of his eye and he quickly wiped it away. I grabbed his hand that wasn't hurt to comfort him. Oddly enough he started to calm down. "When I get out of here, want to go to the movies, or skating, anything to make up for everything I did?"

"Sure."

The nurse came in. "You'll get let out tomorrow, we just want to watch you and make sure nothing happens." Rylee nods his head.
