With sophomore year coming to a close end, Joseph and Lark found themselves becoming closer and closer by the day. This evening, specifically, Joseph lied his head down on Lark's lap, the two silent and staring at one another.

Joseph dazedly stared up at Lark, a smile playing onto his lips. It was then, when he realized how pretty Lark was. Joseph reached up, his hand getting lost in Lark's hair.

     This made Lark smile.

"What happened in the restroom with Andy?" The question was whispered, but it came with a loaded answer.

"It wasn't anything much. He was just being annoying and—untrustworthy." This had Joseph cowering into Lark's lap even further. Was he untrustworthy?

The sadness on Lark's face was worrisome, but Joseph tried his best not to pry. "I'm sorry he upset you. I knew something was wrong the minute you followed him to the restroom."

"I shouldn't have," Lark whispered, while turning away from Joseph. "I knew it wouldn't go well."

Joseph grasped onto Lark's chin, pulling him downward, to get a bit closer to his ear. "You didn't know any better. You gave Andy the benefit of the doubt—and he failed."

"That's the thing, Joe. I did know better. What's wrong with me?" Joseph grabbed onto Lark's cheek, his other hand doing the same. While Lark's face was being cradled by Joseph's palms, he still felt the stray tears falling slowly.

Joseph leaned forward, placing a small kiss at Lark's nose, then, his cheek, then, forehead. By the time, Joseph had finished up with his lingering pecks, Lark was flustered and giggling.

"S-Stop, Joe! Stop!" Although, behind his words, were giggles and chuckling. Joseph finally stopped once Lark was finally smiling again.

"There you are," He said happily, leaning back and palming Lark's cheeks. "There you are."
