Don't play the song yet.

Nobody has dared to ask any more question after that, even when they spoke to some relatives. Arthit kept his word and stayed close to Kongpob as much as it was possible. No more complications have showed up and they managed to sneak out to another part of the house for a while.

"I'm getting tired." Arthit confessed, sitting on a sofa in one of the living-rooms. He was massaging his cheek gently, the bruise hurt from all the smiles he had to fake.

"I know, but endure it for a bit more, P'. Please." Kong also felt worn out but was too used to these kind of circumstances.

"I'm not complaining, don't worry. Those stares we get are uncomfortable though." He confessed, unable to relax while knowing he's being watched.

"That's why I wanted you to stay so close to me. They've doubted us publicly, you can imagine how bad it will be if they find any evidence against us. Media and some of my relatives are really harsh." Kong sighed, sitting down next to his husband.

"Even relatives?" Arthit asked, comparing it to his way smaller family.

"Yeah, envy is a very bad part of one's character. They're trying to get from us and my father the most they can. It's just sad sometimes, watching them trying to sabotage us. The ones who spoke so hatefully during the conference were my cousins." Kongpob explained, feeling a bit ashamed.

Arthit only nodded, wondering how to continue the conversation.

"What was that thing about engagement party?" He remembered Kongpob father's words.

"Oh, that... everybody came under impression I'm going to announce my upcoming marriage with Jane. We didn't state any specific details but they didn't know about my break up with Jane, thus it was natural to assume that. I was afraid we would face harsher and more judgmental treatment before having a chance to speak up. Also, not as many people would come if they knew the truth."

Arthit nodded again, admiring Kong's logic.

"Jane used to be your girlfriend, right? I'm sorry for jumping into conclusions and acting on my own. I felt a weird sentiment I had to protect you from your crazy ex, since I have to deal with something similar. I didn't realize I was just ruining your chance to get her back." Arthit apologized, feeling very guilty. Who was he to spoil Kongpob's life for his selfish accomplishments and ego?

"P'Arthit, don't say that. I should be thanking you for saving me back then. I don't want to get back together with Jane. You're my husband now anyway, what does it even matter." Kong was more than surprised by Arthit's words.

"Cut it out, it's just an act. It's going to be over in a year and what then? We're going to walk our own paths from then on. Think about your future more." Arthit got angry suddenly.

"I'm just trying to manage everything, not having much time left to focus on what's going to happen later, after we split up. I wouldn't go back to Jane regardless to the situation we're in now though." Kongpob answered, feeling a weird tension from the person sitting beside him.

Arthit also felt weird. Why is he heating up over nothing? It was none of his business to care about what is going to happen to Kong after their divorce.

"We should head back." Arthit suggested after longer silence during which he was lost in his thoughts.

"You're right."

"Wait, actually... where are the toilets?" Arthit remembered he wanted to fix his clothes and release his bladder.

"Near the main hall, follow me." Kong ordered, leading him through all the expensive hallways and rooms. Their house seemed more like five-star hotel than a home. It felt somehow too fancy, luxurious and cold. Arthit couldn't imagine coming here and feeling like at home.

"I'll wait for you." Kong said after they reached a door with men's sign on. They even have separate toilets for gender? Arthit couldn't stop being amazed.

He returned in a short while, looking a bit refreshed and less tired. A song started playing in a distance, sound coming from the main hall.

(Play the song)

"This sounds familiar." Arthit listened to the music, trying to remember the name of the song.

"Really? It's one of my favorites." Kong confessed, surprised by his husband's reaction.

"P'Arthit?" He asked suddenly and stopped walking. Arthit turned around, wondering what was up this time.

"Hm?"

"Care to dance with me?" Kongpob asked, grabbing one of Arthit's hands and pulling him closer.

"W-what?! Kongpob! What do you think you're doing! Someone might see us..." Arthit tried to push him away, but was locked in his tight half-embrace.

"Nobody is here. Please?" Kong asked, making puppy eyes. Arthit's cheeks flushed and his husband's expression made him look away.

"What's gotten into you so suddenly?" He muttered to himself, giving up. They were supposed to do this kind of things, after all.

Arthit put his arm on Kongpob's shoulder, letting him to take the lead. He knew he could also be the one leading but this seemed more natural to him.

They swung slowly to the beat, enjoying the moment. Arthit was finally able to relax, after a long day full of tension. He put his head on Kong's shoulder, taking some rest.

Kongpob couldn't help but smile at his husband's behavior. So cute.

If only they knew there weren't alone. A silhouette standing behind the corner disappeared in a second after taking few pictures.
