Despite the shock, Kongpop felt upon his husband's actions, his eyes closed as he was pulled close. The last second before their lips parted, he knew it's going to happen. He could've stopped it.
But he didn't.
Loud gasps echoed in the room and the photographers snapped pictured like crazy. What Arthit planned to be a quick peck quickly proceeded to a real and long kiss.
So soft... crossed his mind as he gently nibbled Kong's lips. Kongpop mirrored Arthit's movement while opening his mouth hungrily. His tongue was ready for action.
Arthit came back to his senses when he felt that a warm and wet muscle gently brushed his lips. He was still tightly squeezing his husband's tie with one hand. The other was placed on the midsection of Kong's cheek and neck. He could feel his skin getting hotter and hotter by every second they proceeded to kiss.
Arthit slowly pushed him away and his head spun mildly. The adrenaline has started to wear off and reality kicked in. All the flashes and lights were too bright and the air was too hot.
Kongpop was still melting like an ice-cream with wide immediately forming on his face. As they pulled away, their eyes locked together and the world around them stopped.
"Uhm, shall we continue?" Kong's father appeared on the stage with very naturally acted cough. "Are there any more questions?"
Longer silence that followed was the only answer they got.
"That is all for today then, thank you for coming." The conference ended far quicker than one would've expected.

The way home was the longest and quietest car drive they've ever experienced. The radio wasn't even on and only thing filling in the silence was a car engine.
"You wanted to talk about something?" Kongpop finally came up with a topic to talk about. Arthit's body slightly jerked as the silence was suddenly broken off.
"O-oh, yeah... it's not important anymore." He brushed it off, feeling embarrassed. He initially wanted to ask about Kongpop's words and his reasons but it wasn't valid anymore. He'd done something way more unexplainable.
"The conference, it went... well, right?" Kong struggled with the right words to say.
"Yeah..." Arthit's eyes were glued on the outside world. He couldn't even look at his husband, it was way too embarrassing. Like some supernatural power was restraining him from turning the head his direction.
"You haven't even had breakfast and it's going to be noon soon... let's stop somewhere and get an early lunch?" Kong asked, trying his hardest to act natural while feeling tingling all over.
"Shall we? Although I don't feel like eating..." Arthit muttered, wishing he could just hide in his bed and under the blanket for an uncertain amount of time.
"It isn't healthy to skip meals, P'. Let's go, I'm treating you." Kongpop decided and made a right turn to park.
Arthit quietly followed Kongpop into a near restaurant while looking strictly at his feet. The tension was rising as they entered.
Sitting opposite each other didn't stop Arthit from staring at the table cloth in front of him. They went yet again quiet except when they held a light conversation with the waiter and ordered.
"...you mean by that?" Arthit muttered to himself. Kongpop caught only last bits of the sentence.
"Sorry, I didn't hear you clearly." He apologized and leaned closer. Arthit raised his eyes for the first time since the kiss and looked at his husband. His body jerked back as Kongpop's face way closer than he expected.
"What you said earlier... what did you mean by that?" although he really planned not to ask, he just had to. "That I'm your husband and you l-love me." He stuttered upon saying the last words.
Kongpop blinked a few times in surprise before answering. "This is what you wanted?" He laughed. "You looked so spaced and out of reality I had to bring you back and get you in your role." He explained with a smile.
Arthit felt like someone poured freezing water on him. His heartbeat must've stopped for a moment and a suffocating feeling didn't let him breathe.
So... he just wanted me to act properly? Arthit clenched his fists under the table and his nails dug deep into his skin.
"I see, you should've said so earlier, it startled me. Let me also apologize for what I did during the conference, it seemed like a good idea back then." He managed to say and used all his strength to smile.
Kongpop's happy expression disappeared and the temperature suddenly dropped to zero.
Huh?
"What do you mean, P'?" He asked to be sure and prevent a misunderstanding.
"I kissed you in front of all those people without any warning or your permission. It was the only way to shut them up though, so I did what I had to. Still, I'm sorry, it won't happen again." Arthit heart started breaking into pieces. He kissed Kongpop thinking their feelings were mutual just to find out he took advantage of him.
"It's okay, it wasn't a big deal." Kong's heart started breaking into pieces. So Arthit really did kiss him only for their husband act.
Wasn't a big deal? Arthit thought it won't get any worse but this was the last cherry on a cake. Of course, it wasn't... kiss isn't a big deal for someone who is not in love.
"I think I now understand your feelings about eating. I don't have any appetite either." Kong signed to the waiter and canceled the orders.
They both experienced the worst car rides in their lives twice on the same day.
I just found out I have exams this week, but worry not! Next update is will be out on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm updating unusually early (5:30 pm in my country) so I hope you don't mind. ~
Take care, dears. ❤️
Whaaa, quick edit. Guys, it's the last misunderstanding they need to talk out, don't worry too much. It's gonna be much sweeter this way.
