"As I was saying," Arthit's father started speaking as soon as all the food was gone, "it's time to talk seriously."

Kongpop turned all his attention to him.

"Let's do so." His smile finally disappeared, having a very serious expression.

"I disapprove of this marriage. What are you going to do about it?" He asked, piercing Kong with his look. The testing has begun.

"When I married P'Arthit, I not only married him as a person, I married his family, his problems, his future issues, his troubles and responsibilities." Kongpop started smoothly, not dropping a beat. "I am and always have been ready to deal with everything that will cross my, now our, way. You might disapprove or disagree with what we had done, but by all means, I'm prepared to convince you this wasn't a mistake. Actions speaks louder than words, therefore I don't expect you to believe in me from the beginning. Yet, I think I need to clarify that I love Arthit the most." Kongpop's look jumped from Arthit's father to Arthit himself as he said the last words. A gentle smile brushed Kong's face before changing back to serious expression.

He stated everything so boldly, dropping the honorifics once again. I need to apologize and explain to P'Arthit once we're alone, he thought guiltily.

His husband started at him, weirdly moved. This was all an act, but even Arthit himself has started to believe their marriage and love are real, at least from Kongpop's side. He sounded so convincing and confident it made Arthit forget the real facts.

Arthit's father coughed before speaking, touched by his son's in-law words. Kong was aware of Arthit's situation and about debt, bankrupting company and heritage, yet was prepared to deal with it. The first impression was already good but this has exceeded Arthit's father's hopes.

"I'm relying on you then." He said and smiled for the first time since their meeting.

"I won't disappoint you, father."

The rest of the evening went even more smoothly than Arthit expected. He wasn't excelling in the conversation nor trying to engage himself in the topics.  Kongpop and his parents enjoyed themselves even without his help.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, darling. I'm looking forward to meeting you in the future, you have to come over with Arthit next time." Arthit's mother said, feeling genuinely relieved. Her son was married, had a supporting and loving partner and rich on top of that. Arthit was secured to have a happy and bright future, and she'd never desired anything else.

"Let's meet again, my son." Arthit's father shook Kong's hand, also feeling at ease. Arthit was in good hands from now on. They said goodbye and Kongpop paid the rather high bill.

"I'll drop you off, wait for me." He ordered his husband, avoiding the need for explanation that would appear if he went the same way. Kong didn't tell Arthit about his apartment located right next to his. Nor about the expectations of his parents that they should live together.

"I'm sorry, P' for dropping the honorifics." Kong apologized as soon as they were sitting in his car, the newest model of BMW brand.

"That worries me the least, don't be bothered. As long as you keep them between the two of us while we don't act, I don't mind." Arthit shrugged him off, dazing out of the window. It wasn't raining anymore and the evening has slowly started creeping under his skin. The darkness outside with a comfortable seat made him very sleepy and tired from the whole day.

"It went well, what you think?" Kong asked, wanting to be a bit praised or at least appreciated. It was childish indeed, but that's how rich and spoiled kids were.

"If my parents find out this is a lie, we're both gonna be eaten alive..." he muttered, his eyelids already falling down. "But you were really amazing, even I was convinced you love me." Arthit laughed softly at his words.

Kongpop switched his look between him and road. Arthit's last sentence awoken a weird feeling in his chest, but it vanished almost immediately after that.

"You can sleep dear, I'll wake you up once we're home." He whispered softly, addressing him the same as during the dinner.

Arthit wanted to ask what he meant by it but drifted into a peaceful sleep before managing to do so.

Kong himself didn't know why he did it. The mood of being a lovely-dovely married couple was still there, that was the only reasonable explanation for his actions.

Right?

I know I promised it sooner but I've deleted the whole thing and didn't have a back up folder, so I had to write it again from the scratch.

I'm so busy, my mid-year report is coming up, I'm planning a short holiday trip abroad and everything has been so hectic and rushed. I'm aware that nothing important has happened in this chapter but I need to do some bonding, although the critical parts are only coming up.
