I walked across the parking lot then heard him and her, I opened my purse as the bus was coming down the road then counted my change.

"Marnie.."

"I'm okay, I just remembered that I had a doctors appointment!" I lied, seeing her just brought back memories of what happened.

"Theo!" She calls out for him in annoyance.

"Marnie, look at me..."

"Look at you for what exactly?! Hello, I'm your fucking fiancée, let's go!" She continues to cause a scene, I stepped on the bus without turning back and putting my money into the machine then walking to an open seat.

They argued as the bus was pulling off, I rode the bus all the way to the last stop then walked to the park near Giselle's school. I sat down on one of the swings and took out a book to read, the phone that he gave me kept ringing and vibrating as I read my book. Even after reading a few chapters, it never stopped. I checked the time and made my way to the front of the school and waited for Giselle.

Footsteps were approaching where I was sitting down at, I glance to the right and see Theo making his way towards me.

"You didn't have to come here.."

"I'm not that kind of guy, how badly am I screwing this up with you?"

"You're not, I got scared.. her voice and presence scared me, I needed to get out!" I said to him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know she was gonna come there! I broke things off with her and she's not too happy but I don't care, my main concern is that you're gonna be okay."

"I'm fine.."

"I got something for Giselle, I know you won't take it but I want you to take it and don't offer to pay me back because I won't accept it!" he hands me a money order.

I shook my head no then attempt to give him back the money order.

"Don't worry about it—"

"Mom! Mom! Somebody beat up Judie's mom, Tatianna's mom and Flora's mom were talking about it this morning! Hey Theodore!" Giselle comes running toward us, Theo puts his hand on his mouth to hide his laughter.

"I'm sorry, I can't help it!" He whispers as I move Giselle closer to me.

"I'm sure she's probably just not feeling well!"

"Nope, they said that's why Judie and Johnny weren't in school today!" Giselle says as we walk to Theo's truck, we get inside. This kid, I'm glad they didn't go into full detail about it but who knows what else was said.

We made our way towards the fire station, John and some of the firefighters were washing the trucks. Giselle was in awe, Theo waves bye to us then gives Giselle a fist bump. She jumps out of the backseat and I followed as Theo rolls his window down.

"I'll be in the area—"

"That won't be necessary, I can drop them off home!" John's voice was getting closer towards us.

"I'll call you.."

"I'll be waiting!" He says while saluting John then waving bye to Giselle again, he drives off and Giselle reaches out for my hand.

"Wanna get in?" John asks Giselle while pointing at the fire truck, she nods her head yes.

I let her hand go then go sit down in viewing range of them both. He opens up the driver side door for her then helps her inside the truck, he walks around to the passenger side and gets in. He shows her what some of the buttons do inside of the truck then lets her honk the horn, she was enjoying it.
