XVII.

We had time to spare so we waited outside of the airport at a small café. John called to speak with Giselle, I just sat by the window and watched her reflection. He was asking her about the plane ride, she told him how much she enjoyed it and how it was her first time on a plane. Now that I'm able to afford this, I think I'll take her somewhere else next but see how this goes first. I'm nervous about getting on a boat and especially a boat this size.

"Yeah, okay, I'll talk to you later! Bye!" She hands me back the phone so he could speak with me, I put it to my ear as she began to eat her sandwich.

"Hello!"

"Hey, she's excited!" He says with a small laugh as I nodded my head to myself.

"Yeah, it's her first trip so I wanted to make it special for her!" I expressed to him.

"She sounds happy so I'm positive that you're doing something right, I wanted to talk to you about your dad." He says and I sit up in the chair.

"What about him?" I asked nervously.

"I ran into him yesterday at the supermarket, he seemed like he was interested in finding you. Asked if I saw you or met up with you recently, I told him that I haven't saw you since Giselle was a baby.."

I let out a small sigh.

"You didn't have to do that for me.." I answered but in reality, I'm happy he did because if they find out that I'm doing great then my world will come crashing down again.

"It's the least I can do, you're getting the life that I promised you and didn't give you so yeah I had to do that for you."

"Thank you!" I replied while checking the time on my watch.

"Don't mention it!"

"I have to go, we have to make it to the shuttle! I'll have her give you a call when we reach the first island!" I expressed.

"Okay, bye, safe travels."

"Thank you, bye!"

I hung up then let Giselle finish up her food, we made it to the shuttle transportation in time. My baby girl took the window seat for the 15 minute commute to the harbor, getting a look at the rest of the world that we're finally getting to experience. Seeing the boat for the first time was breathtaking, it was even bigger than in pictures. I took a picture of her in front of the boat then another one of us both in front of it, she held my hand tightly as we strolled our suitcases aboard the boat.

They recommend that I had did a check-in prior to boarding the boat so it made things easier. I filled everything out online so we were ready to go, my nerves kicked in even more once we reached our room. The Verandah suite had a personal balcony each of them did. Giselle set her things down near the bed and pointed at the little towel made swan on the bed that had a little welcome note with it.

"Can we keep the note? I wanna add it to my scrapbook!"

"Yeah, sure! Wanna go check out the balcony then the rest of the boat?" I asked her and she nods her head yes.

I called Theo before the boat undocked, hearing his voice gave me a peace of mind. He asked how I felt during the drive and flight, I felt amazing being able to drive my own vehicle and just cruise down the open highway. He was excited for me and exited for Giselle to have an exciting birthday trip, he also said he got her a few gifts for her birthday but he'll wait till we get back to give them to her rather than show her on FaceTime.

We talked for a little bit more until the first boat horn then he let me go, we could reach everyone from Facebook with the WiFi but I'll only use it to share pictures from the trip for now. I posted 3 pictures so far, the two from in front of the boat and the last one of Giselle on the balcony. This was going to be an experience of a lifetime, we were gonna be able to spend a few hours on each major 4 islands in Hawaii. Honolulu, Kahului, Nawiliwili and Hilo. The first port of call is Hilo but we won't get there until day 3 of being on the boat so we have enough time to explore the boat.
