XIII.

I sat here with Giselle next to me as I looked over the paperwork for the house we just toured. Theo sat at the side of his mom's desk and she behind it, I pointed the pin at the numbers.

"You're really gonna pay this much for this house?" I looked up at Theo and asked him, he nods his head yes while his mom shrugs with a smile.

"You can always take payments from my check!" I suggest and he laughs.

"Not a chance, sweetheart!" He teased but I was serious.

"What do I pay?" I asked his mom.

"His check will clear in 3 to 7 days with that process, we'll have a few things taken care of around the house. Get an inspector out to check the property, make sure all of the things around the house are up to code. Your only bills will be water, electric and cable!"

"Can we get internet too mom?!" Giselle asked me.

"I'll have to get you a computer.." I replied and she smiled at me, I'm in too deep now.

"Thank you, Theo!" I looked up at him then back down at the papers, I took a deep breath then signed each x that was labeled for me to sign.

"This.. Is.. SO AWESOME!" Giselle jumps up from the chair and runs to Theo, she gives him a tight hug and he hugs her back as I finished signing the last page.

"I'm gonna copy these for you and technically the house is all yours now!"

Ms. Gia turns her chair and reaches for the set of keys from earlier then hands them to me. I looked down at the keys then watched as Theo takes his checkbook from his back pocket then write his mom a $888,000+ check. This was really happening for us, I stood up from my seat as his mom continues to copy the papers.

"We should go out and celebrate!"

"I was thinking of you bringing them over for dinner!" His mom says.

"Uh—"

"I don't mind.." I answered while looking towards Theo then back to his mom.

"Well then we'll be there!"

We finished up here at his mothers office then went out to lunch, I'm overwhelmed with joy and it feels so amazing. We went to a local place called Jones and like every other place around here, I've never been here.

"Are we gonna go furniture shopping tomorrow?" Giselle asked me while we took a few bites of our appetizers.

"You have your game tomorrow!"

"What if I don't wanna play tomorrow's game?" She asks in return.

"Why not? You've been playing so good and it's only the beginning of the season!" I said to her.

"Well, I heard that tomorrow we're facing Johnny's team so Mr. Rozzotti and his wife and Judie are gonna be there too.." she explains.

"So what's the problem? You just don't wanna play or is Judie still bothering you since I requested your class change?" I asked her.

"Her mom makes sly comments here and there but I ignore them and the teachers been documenting everything like you asked her to. I just don't wanna deal with them tomorrow.."

Theo frowns a bit while sighing, I know that look too well. He wanted to give his advice but he doesn't want to because he feels as if it's not his place to and he's right but his advice always brings a smile to her face so I give him a head nod.

"What if I come to your game with your mom instead of just dropping you guys off?" He asks her and she smiles at him.

"First, can I ask you guys something?" She turns her head between the both of us and we both nod our heads.
