The next day it rained horribly. Lightning, thunder, and rain pouring down as hard as it could pour.
I was in my bedroom reading a book, when my mom came in my room.
"Where is Danny?" She asked standing at my doorway.
"I'm not sure," I respond.
"We never got to finish talking about when you went to the edge of the woods," mom said.
"What do you want to know?" I said.
"Was Danny with you?" She asked.
My eyes avoided her eyes in the silence. "I knew it!" She yelled. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Well I-" and she cut me off.
I heard her mumble something, but I couldn't make out the words. Then she mumbled something again and I could make out "unless he got there."
Finally I couldn't take it all of these questions without answers were piling up, "Mom, what are you talking about? Are you talking about Danny? Where could he have gone? What happened?"
"Can we just please not talk about it now? I can't handle this, at least not now," Mom said before she walked out of my bedroom and into the kitchen to make supper.
