Fern and I walk out of the infirmary and out to the small setup they have in the woods.
After all of the questions I had while changing into some of Fern's blue jeans, a shirt of her's that is lavender, and sneakers that are also lavender, our walk was quite.
I had asked so many questions I lost count. How many people are there here? How come they weren't in the village and out here? and a lot more.
"Come on," Fern says.
I didn't realize, but she had walked way ahead of me and was heading to a house-looking-building. I quickly limp/run to catch up with her, my golden-brown hair bouncing with each step.
By the time I get to the doorway, which is held open by a chair, Fern turned the corner. "Really, Fern. Really," I whisper as I jog through the open door and turn the same way she did. Once I turn, I see one door at the end of the short hall, one to my right, and one to my left. The door to my left is swinging, so I walk through it.
Fern is no where in sight, but I do see the back of who I think is Clay.
"Clay?" I ask.
Clay turns around and says in a harsh tone, "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be in the infirmary."
"Fern was just trying to get me to use my foot again by walking around whatever you call this place," I explain, "Am I not supposed to try to work my foot up again?" I ask. I don't know anything about healing that was my mom's job. I would never be a nurse; I just about puked every time I see blood.
We both glance at my right foot, the one that had been shot as Fern had explained. It was wrapped up in a thin, white cloth that Fern said was to help protect it from getting worse.
"No it's fine. I'm glad you're feeling better, but where is Fern?" He asks.
"I'm not sure. I saw her run into here; she ran ahead of me when I came to the three door hallway" I said, balancing on my left foot to not have injured one having too much pressure.
"Oh, she must have went into her room," Clay says.
"Her room? Which one is it?" I ask.
Clay says as he walks to the door and gestures for me to follow, "I'll show you."
