|~~~~~Maki Nishikino's POV~~~~~|
"Your father killed my mother" kept on replaying in my head. My dad killed her mom? How? Why? I didn't want to think it was true, but it is. My mouth was dry, my throat had an invisible lump, preventing me from speaking.

"I-...I'm sorry.." was all I could muster.

"Sure you are." She said clenching her hand into a fist. If she was going to punch me I needed to be quick. But she didn't. "Your father ruined my life." She said bitterly. "How do you know it was my dad?" I asked cautiously, not wanting to upset her more.

"Because I remembered my mom screaming his name begging him to stop."

I was lost for words again. I can't believe my dad killed someone's mom. "Was there any reason why he would kill her?" I asked quietly. "No." Was all she said. "How old were you at that time..?" I asked. "6 or 7." Akari said quietly.

She was so young..

"I'm sorry.. I didn't know..really.."

"Of course you wouldn't." She snapped.

"But Vampires aren't bad anymore, except for the fallen ones and some other jerks who live in the past and can't move on. We've changed over the centuries." I defended. She looked at me dead in the eyes. Her green eyes looked so dull, almost lifeless.

"Sure Jan."

"Alright I'll prove it, meet me tomorrow at the rooftop. We have practice that day but it'll do. Once we're finished, we can visit some old friends of mine."

"Beats me, it won't change my mind."

I rolled my eyes, "it will, watch."

|~~~~~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~~~~~|
I arrived home around 8:30 pm. Time flies fast when you aren't paying attention to it. I received a text from Nico.

~Text Log~
N: can I come over?
M: sure what's wrong?
N: it's better if I tell you in person

I didn't like that response, now I'm worried.

M: ok I'll be waiting
N: thanks. It's nothing bad I promise
M: I hope it isn't

I turned off my phone sitting down on my bed. If it's not bad then why does she want to tell me it in person. That can only bring bad news. Although I trust her that it isn't bad news.

My train of thought was broken when I heard the doorbell.

I quickly went to answer it. "It wasn't even a minute when you sent that text." I said surprised to see Nico here, panting. "I didn't want to keep you waiting, so I ran." She said catching her breath. "Come in." I said stepping aside. "Thanks." She said before entering.

"What was it that you wanted to tell me?"

"It's Honoka."

"What about her? Is she hurt? Is she ok?"

"No, she isn't and yes she's ok."

"Then What is it?"

"Ok I'm lying it's not Honoka or anyone, I just made up an excuse to see you."

"You gave me a heart attack." I said holding my chest. "I know I'm sorry, I should've just said that I wanted to visit you even though I see you like everyday." Nico said rubbing the back of her neck.
