If I was a bird
I'd learn how to soar
The dark world below
Would be nothing but a dream
My nest would be the trees
That lined the open seasIf I was a fox
I'd live before dawn
I'd have no friends
But competition would be my comrade
My den safe in the night
But my forest has no such rightsIf I was a mouse
I'd know how to steal
And I would survive
Because I'd learn how to hide
In the house, I'd be free
It's the only place I could be meIf I was a bee
I'd stay in my hive
With my wax and my honey
There would be no worries
And I'd follow my queen
But would never be seenIf a was a tortoise
I think I'd stay in my shell
No one could bother me
Except for maybe hunger
But while others were eaten in the fields
My shell would be my shieldBut I'm not a bird
Who could fly away
Or a fox
With a den
I'm not a mouse
Who stole to surviveAnd I'm not a bee
Hidden in my hive
Oh I'm not a tortoise
With a hard shell
Yes, I'm simply a human stuck in this world
Stuck here and barely aliveAnyone have any ideas for poems. I've kind of stuck. Please comment.
