~Zane's POV~
"Here we are..." I announce once we get to the parking lot. I can see my mum gushing from the rear mirror.
"Still the same way we left it," my dad says, breaking the silence.
"Yep..." I reply, unsure of what to say.
I turn off the car engine and open my door and that of my mum since my dad had stepped before I got a chance to that for him.
"You can go through the back door so she doesn't see any of you," I say in a hushed tone.
They both nod and make their way towards the back door.
I shake my head, still not able to comprehend that they are here. I open up the boot of the car and pick their bags out. They don't seem heavy so I'll assume they stay long. I shut it and try picking them up when a hand reaches out to pick up one of the bags. I look up to see Taylor.
She looking much more better than the last time I saw her. Her blonde hair put up to a ponytail, her makeup isn't heavy and she's wearing a pink chiffon button up shirt on a pair of black jeans; all under an unzipped navy blue coat.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, trying to pull the bag out of her grasp.
"I came to see mum and dad, and you." Her voice is low and her gaze downcast.
"Why?" I ask shocked that she'll want to see me after our last encounter. Not that I care, but I do care.
"I came to apologise for everything. For Zara's accident and your girlfriend-"
"She's not my girlfriend," I say through my teeth.
"I definitely seems like it. Your were so overprotective and you don't see it but I do. Is she here so I could personally apologise?"
I sigh, "No she isn't."
"Why?"
"She's visiting her grandad," and the lie keeps going round. "He said he needed to see her-"
"And you are lying to me."
"Me? No...really...no, not me," I stutter.
"You're fiddling with your hands and afraid to make eye contact with me."
"Why did you try hurting her?"
"Can we get inside first?"
"Sure...Tay."
A ghost of smile warms her face as she hugs me. It feels so typical...familiar to be in her hold after a long time.
After a while, she lets go of me and we pick the bags inside.
"Tay?" Zara says when she sights I and Taylor making our way into the house. She runs towards Taylor who picks her up smiling into the crook of her neck.
"I missed you," she looks at Zara, "I am also sorry for that cast."
"It was no problem and I'm glad you're home."
She looks at me and Tay keeps her back down on the floor.
"And I missed you too Z," she says, hugging me so tightly.
"Me too lil Z..."
She awkwardly looks at the bag by I and Taylor's sides and her eyes goes wide.
She begins jumping excitedly, chanting "They are here. I can't believe it Z but they are here."
She finally stops and looks at I and Tay once again, "Do I look good?"
Taylor shrugs her jacket off and puts it on the coat hanger and goes down on one knee.
