"So how was school?" Vanessa asks with a smile.
"It was nice today."
"Anything else that was absurd or new? Just say whatever catch your interest today."
"Okay, I danced,"
"To what song?"
"I Feel It Coming. It was really nice to take away all those stress by dancing," I hug my knees smiling. "And Zane came into the gym...and apologised about his behaviour."
"Really?"
"Yeah but it was long ago and I forgave him too. But what do you think about him apologising?"
"I just feel he feels sorry for what happened that day and wanted to personally say it get it off his chest. He needed to know if you actually forgave him."
"Oh...okay and I think I made that clear to him and I hope he gets that. I was happy avoiding him but he just had to come back to apologise."
"Why do you feel bad about this whole apology thing?" she states pulling her chair closer. I sigh and rub the back of my neck.
"The truth is didn't I never needed an apology to let go of everything. I said some stuff too that I should have been apologising for."
"Why are feeling like this?"
"I don't also understand either."
"I want you to go home," she puts my hand in hers and looks at me through her glasses. "And listen to yourself. Relax and forget the voices in your head and give your heart the chance to speak. I understand you're going through an early socialisation stage and for that, I'm so proud of you Cassie. You've given yourself this chance and I know it's a huge step. Understand why the sudden empathy and give me a call. I'm here for you, okay?"
"Okay." I say with a nod.
"What about the sleeping pills?"
"They're working fine and I haven't dreamt much about that incident though which is nice."
"Fine and I think our sess is done."
"Really?"
"Really. Give me a call, anytime."
"I will."
I loved this session with her because I finally get to voice out to her. I feel a little more better and will stick to her advice even if it means me giving my heart a chance to speak.
I walk out to the hallway where my mum spots me and gets up.
"Are you ready to go?" I nod and follow her out to the parking lot.
We've been back home since an hour ago and my dad's sitting in the living room watching the news with my mum who joined him after a shower. I'm in my room texting Ellie on the phone.
Ellie: Hw wz grocery shopping with ur mum?
Me: It wz nice.
Ellie: 2dy wz weird.
Me: Hw do u mean?
