Remington's POV
We wouldn't be expected to perform until much later in the day after twelve. I left a text to my brothers and Andrew saying that I wanted to get a new tattoo before we got started, so I'd have an excuse to be gone for a while. Maybe I will, after me and Joanna get married, but I want it to be in her honor since she owns my heart now. So, I changed my clothes, brought my best looking outfit for the occasion, and called a cab to take me to the church where I'd meet Joanna. When I got in the taxi, I confirmed with the person who agreed to marry us in secret that they would come on time, and they told me they were already there. It made me smile, and I texted them thanks so much. I trusted this person with my entire being, and I couldn't wait for Joanna to see why.
Joanna's POV
I told my band mates that I needed to check up on myself, and that I would be back before we started playing today. Jasper wanted to come, but I told him he needs to stay to take care of things here, and that I need to do this alone so I can gain a bit of independence. He had a bit of a doubtful look on his face, but he eventually let me go. I promised I would call as soon as I was done, and then said goodbye to them as I left. I got a taxi to take me to the church and when I got in, I texted Remington I would be there very soon and that I was so excited and happy this was going to happen. He texted back "I love you" with an emoji blowing me a kiss, and I replied "I love you, too" with a blushing emoji as I blushed in real life.
When we pulled up to the church that was farthest from the festival, I gathered my stuff and thanked the driver before tipping him and exiting. Before I left, Remington asked me to bring either my best dress or nicest looking formal outfit. It's been a while since I dressed formally, since I barely get to be in the spotlight. When I walked in the church, there were candle lights scattered all over the floor and some on the benches. It was so romantic, and I never felt so lucky to have met my true love. I felt something tap my shoulder, and I turned to find Remington, smiling with love dancing in his eyes. I threw my arms around him and kissed him. He kissed me back, and it suddenly started to get more passionate. Then, before it got too passionate, we heard someone cough in the distance.
I turned to see a woman older than me and Remington, and she smiled at me with such happiness and gratitude, I couldn't help but wonder who she is. I turned to ask Remington and he must have read my mind because he answered my question. "Joanna, I want you to meet my sweet and wonderful angel of a mother, Stephanie." I was in shock. He introduced me to his mother? He really does love me. Shy, I stuck my hand out for a handshake, but she gave me a tight hug instead. She was so welcoming having barely met me, I couldn't help but cry as I hugged back.
When we let go she told me, "I am so happy that my son found someone to make him happy and take care of him, and I can't wait to marry the both of you together." I perked up with confusion. "Wait," I exclaimed, "YOU'RE going to marry us?" She replied with a giggle, "Yes dear, I've had a license to marry for a few years because I wanted to help loving couples live happily ever after. It makes it all worth it, though, when I get to marry my own sons with their loves." I blushed when she said that, and Remington held my hand.
Then, his mother said, "Alright, both of you get dressed, and we'll start very soon." She accompanied to help me put on my outfit, and Remington went to get dressed. She helped me to wear a short dress I had that was pink and had a beautiful sash on the waistline, and covered the shoulders. I had a pair of shoes that were black with a white, shimmery bow on them and had short heels because I hate wearing high heels. She then worked on my hair, and as I looked in the mirror,I decided to tell her what was on my mind. "Stephanie, I want to be with Remington more than anything," I started, "but the truth is, I'm scared whether us being together through our love yet being apart by our bands will make it better or worse for all of us." She looked at me through the reflection and responded "Oh, sweetie. Sometimes, the best love affairs are found unexpected. The hate between your bands may seem strong, but your love may be even stronger to dissolve it and even strong enough to end this awful feud." I smiled as she finished, and said "thank you."
Remington's POV
I finished putting on the tux I've worn for a few special occasions and concerts. I kinda wished my brothers were here to see this, but I don't want to make this any worse for all of us. It's already a big enough risk for us to get married, but for her, it's worth anything they might do to us. After Veronica dumped me, I started to believe I just wasn't meant to be loved, or even happy. She really hurt me, because I really cared about her. I wonder why it wasn't enough for her. I would've given her everything she wanted if it meant she'd be happy with me. But, now I realize I'm happy we weren't meant to last. I would have never met this beautiful angel that I was about to marry. She was special the first moment we sang together at the party that night. I couldn't just ignore her. She had a heart that was strong and pure, and that's something rare in our world today.
As I waited at the altar, I saw my mom and my bride peek out and start walking down the aisle. When I saw my bride, I couldn't believe what I was seeing with my own eyes. She looked like the most beautiful angel to ever walk this Earth, and she was about to marry me. She was smiling the whole time, and did her best not to cry. When she got to me, my mother kissed her cheek, and got up to officiate our marriage. As she was giving her speech, me and Joanna were looking at each other and I couldn't help but imagine all the places we'd see and the memories we'd make together. She mouthed silently, "I love you", and I responded in the same way "I love you, too."
Then, it was time for us to give each other our vows, and we took a breath as we both sang them at the same time.
Whether near or far
I am always yours
Any change in time
We are young again
Lay us down
We're in love
We're in love
As we sang them, we slid our wedding rings in each other's hands, and that's when Joanna finally started letting her tears fall.
In these coming years
Many things will change
But the way I feel
Will remain the same
Lay us down
We're in love
We're in love
As my mother finally pronounced us husband and wife, we kissed like we never kissed anyone ever and we hadn't seen each other in forever. In that sweet tender moment, I got a calm feeling in my heart that no matter what might happen, that this love was true and we were meant to last forever.
😍😍😍 I have been waiting for so long to use The End Of All Things for their wedding vows because it makes me emotional every time I hear it. I love this chapter and this story with all my heart. I hope all of you do, too! Thank you you for your support and more will come soon. 💗💗💗
