Remington's POV

I couldn't believe my eyes. She was alive and well. My beloved angel. Ma chérie. My sweetness. The tears wouldn't stop streaming as I pulled her out of the coffin, and held her tightly in my arms. She cried in my shoulder, her knees giving out easily so I kneeled down on the ground and so did she. "Remington", she called my name with a shaley tone. "I was afraid I might never see you again." "So was I, ma chérie.", I whispered as to stifle my sobs. "Emerson told me he saw you were dead, and I didn't want to believe him. I wanted to see you one last time." Her sobs then came to a sudden stop. She pulled away from our hug to face me with a worried look on her face. "Why are we in the church instead of outside of the town?", she asked me in fear.

Then, we jumped in shock as we heard the police sirens get louder as they came closer to where we are. I started to get scared for our lives. "We gotta go!" I told Joanna. "Where? How?", she remarked. "I don't know", I reassured her, "but we can't stay here." She took my hand and we snuck out a secret exit only I knew about. I found my motorbike, and gave her my spare helmet, but someone saw us and we hauled our asses out of there. Apparently, our band members seemed to be out to get us as well. My brothers recognized my motorbike and Joanna's bandmates recognized her eyes, and probably freaked the fuck out when they not only saw her alive and well, but riding on a bike with Remington from Palaye Royale.

Joanna's POV

My heart started to pound as we got pursued by both the police and our bands. Remington tried to get to the town line, but it was still closed off with a bunch of officers guarding it. He turned to another street, but then everyone saw us and started taking pictures and videos on their phones. I had a feeling we wouldn't be able to keep this a secret for long, but I had hoped it would be somewhere far away from here. Then people started shouting things at us. "IT'S JOANNA AND REMINGTON! WHY ARE THEY TOGETHER ON A BIKE?" "I THOUGHT SHE WAS ENGAGED TO LUKE!" "THEY SHOULDN'T BE WITH EACH OTHER!" I couldn't help but take in all of what they were saying personally. It made my heart hurt to know people wouldn't accept us together.

It seemed at every turn, there were police cars blocking the way so we wouldn't escape easily. We had nowhere to go until we ended up close to the peak of Moon Child Cliff, and we were cornered by our band mates and the police. We were forced to back up until we were close to the edge of the cliff. Then our band mates got close and walked slowly toward us.

Remington's POV

"Now, Remington, let's not do anything irrational", Sebastian tried to tell me. "I already did, Sebastian", I spoke back, "I fell in love with this wonderful girl from our rival band and I married her." They all looked at us with appalling and shocked looks as Joanna gripped my hand tightly. "It's true", Joanna backed me up in a firm tone. "Joanna, are you out of you damn mind!?!", her friend Ivy exclaimed. "How could you be so stupid and be with someone so worthless and not as well-privileged as Luke?", then Joanna got pissed. "Maybe it's because he was the only one who treated me like a person and made me feel like I actually existed, unlike all of you! And Luke doesn't even care about anyone other than himself which is despicable to me." I squeezed her hand as she fought to hold back her tears.

"We found something in each other we were missing for so long", I explained to our families. "Hope to find happiness again. She helped me realize I deserve happiness despite the things that have happened to me, and I helped her know she is perfect and beautiful and she should always be treated like the angel that she is." Joanna let a single tear fall as she spoke again as everyone in the town gathered close to where we were at the peak. "We understand how ridiculous it is to be together and hope for something that seems impossible. But, we can't help that finding love in a place full of hate makes it even more rare and special. If you could just look in your hearts and see what this means to us, you'd realize that this could bring unity and closure instead of destruction and separation." If only her heartfelt speech was enough to change our friends' closed minds.

Joanna's POV

"I've heard enough of this bullshit. Joanna, you're coming with us whether you like it or not to get rid of this stupid marriage and stick to your band", Ivy exclaimed with hate in her voice. "Remington, you've done a lot of things without using your head, but this has gone too far. Let's just get back and talk things through rationally", Sebastian tried to say in an understanding tone. I just didn't get myself. My head kept telling me this would happen, but my heart assured me our love would be worth the risk. But no matter what the consequence was, I was never going to give up what I've found with Remington. He looked at me, and I motioned over the edge of the cliff. He asked me with his eyes, "Are you sure?" I nodded once. He nodded once as well. Just as our band mates inched toward us, we shared one last kiss and held on tightly to each other as we stepped off the edge...
