   Flare's POV

I snuggled against Martin's chest. His arms were wrapped around me, pulling me close to him. His glasses were on, he must've been tired for him not to take them off. I laid my hand on Martin's cheek, gave him a small kiss, and pulled away carefully, not making a sound.

I heard snoring from another room. It must've been the newcomers to the house whom I'd seen for a split second before falling back to sleep. I walked upstairs to check on Baki. His breathing was normal and he was sleeping peacefully, in no pain. I did good, I thought as I smiled at Baki.

I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and I spun around to see Simon raise his hands in alarm.

"I didn't mean to frighten you. I just wanted to say good morning," he said quickly. I smiled.

"Good morning Simon. How are you?" I asked.

   "Tired," he said.

   "Yeah, me too," I admitted.

"I saw you sleeping with Martin last night. I just want to say, he found the perfect person for him. He's lucky," Simon said, blushing. I smiled shyly and hugged him.

"Thanks Simon, you might've just made my day," I said. He hugged me back lightly.

I let go of Simon and turned my attention back to Baki.

   "Why Baki?" I asked Simon.

"I don't know, Baki is innocent. You can see it in his eyes," Simon said.

"Innocent of what crime?" I asked curiously.

"Of any, Baki never did anything," Simon shrugged. A boy in a purple cloak stumbled into the room.

"Oh, Seto? What are you doing here?" Simon asked.

"Me, Adam, Brice and Ty all got here last night, Martin let us stay," Seto said. Seto turned to me.

"You must be Flare?" he asked me. I nodded.

"I'm Seto Sorcerer. I'm a sorcerer," he said. I smiled.

"Oh? I didn't notice," I said sarcastically. He laughed slightly.

"What kind of magic do you do?" I asked.

"Um.. Any kind," he answered, "Some people say I'm the best sorcerer in the city. I just think I'm the only sorcerer in the city."

   I smiled.

"Where are the others? Are they awake yet?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah, they're downstairs waiting for you. Did you save Baki like Martin said?" Seto asked. I nodded.

"He's in bad shape... What happened?" he asked. I shrugged.

"He was tortured in front of me," Simon said.

"Someone tried to cut him to death? They almost succeeded..." Seto said, tracing one of Baki's wounds with his finger. Baki flinched and opened his eyes.

"Baki you're awake!" Simon shouted, hugging him.

"S.. Simon? I can't breathe!" Baki tried to shout.

"Oh! Sorry," said Simon, letting go of Baki. Baki panted and looked at us.

"Oh my god! I'm alive! How?" Baki shouted in relief. Simon pointed to me and I blushed.

"I fixed your wounds so you would feel better in the morning. I also gave you some healing II potion in your sleeping medicine," I said.

"Thanks, I'm actually alive! I thought I was done for once the first blade made contact," Baki said, flopping down on his back.
