Chapter 16

   Flare's POV

   Martin collapsed on the ground. Someone was standing where he used to be. She had purple and pink hair and she was wearing a blue shirt. Her eyes were different colors, one green and one blue.

   "Dawn!? " I heard Adam shout.

   "Hello again Adam. Nice to see you," Dawn said.

   I tried to get to Martin, but she shot a warning shot in front of me.

   "Don't even go near him," she spat, "He got what he deserved."

   "No!" I shrieked, and lightning flashed behind me, "He was just a normal guy. Why would he deserve this?"

   "From you of course!" she said.

   Tears streamed down my face, and the rain picked up. This isn't happening! This is all a dream! I screamed to myself in my head. It can't be.

   Rage and sadness filled inside me as thunder crashed loudly around around us.

   "No. I won't let this happen!" I shouted, lightning striking closer to me each time. The amulet around my neck glowed bright red. It was quiet, until I broke the silence.

   "You will never see the sun," I said. How did that happen? I didn't want to say that, something forced me.

   "It will be blocked out until the death of despair," I said unexpectedly. Who was saying this? This wasn't me!

   "You are the cause of despair, and you must be eliminated," Flame spoke along with me, her amulet glowing as well.

   "And that's what we're going to do," we said together. The others stared at us in shock. Tyler gave us a terrified look, backing away next to Kyle. I growled deep in my throat, causing thunder to crash. I held out my hand, and lightning struck me, sending the electricity flowing through my veins. I wasn't the one controlling myself, something else was.

   Flame lifted her hand to the sky, and the winds picked up. She made a circle with her finger and the clouds began to twist. She was making a tornado?! I thought. Adam stepped up to us, in the middle, his amulet also glowing.

   "We summon the power of the storm! And we use it against you!" Adam shouted, slamming his foot on the ground. The rock underneath him cracked. He has the power of earthquakes? I thought. I have lightning, Flame has winds, and Adam has earthquakes? What was happening?

   Flame's tornado touched down and the winds picked up exceedingly. I focused my lightning on the tornado, firing it to its target. Sparks of electricity lit up in the twisting winds and clouds. Adam spread his hands and the crack in the ground did the same. Soon the once small crack became a trench, separating us from Martin and Dawn.

   Dawn was staring at the tornado, which flashed with the lightning combined with it.

   "Nothing can help you now," we all spoke together.
