   Baki's POV

I stared at Simon's limp body. Tears formed in my eyes, realizing that he wouldn't wake up. Blood was everywhere that Simon was, flowing quickly towards me. He had confessed his love for me once I had woken up, and now he was gone. Tears streamed down my face. I had loved him too, but I never said anything. I was too afraid. Now I would never be able to tell him.

"I've had enough of this. You're coming home, now," said Flare's mother, picking Flare up by the collar of her jacket. Flare didn't move, she went limp. She let her arms dangle by her sides, and her wings bent down flat. She was using no muscle in any of her body.

"Come on! On your feet!" shouted her mother, shaking her back and forth. Flare still didn't move. Flare's mom dropped Flare to the ground and kicked her.

"Get up you lazy thing!" she shouted. Flare ignored her. Flare stayed there limp, still not moving.

"Go away... Just leave.. You never loved me... Why do you want me?" I heard Flare mutter.

"I don't want to do anything around the house, and you can and will do it all," her mother said. Martin held Simon in his arms, and I couldn't move. Flare didn't budge.

"Maybe this will persuade you," her mother said, walking towards me. I whimpered in fear. I was defenseless, and I couldn't fight back. She smiled and raised her knife. I saw Flare flinch.

"Herobrine... Herobrine....... Herobrine," she muttered. Her mother  turned back to her.

"What did you say?" her mother asked. Flare was silent. Her mother shrugged and brought the knife down on me. I closed my eyes and waited for the impact. The sound of metal clanging rang in my ears. I opened my eyes and saw a man with brown hair, deep blue jeans, and a light blue tee blocking the knife with a diamond sword. The man turned to me and winked.

His eyes were pure white. Herobrine! I thought. Herobrine was fighting for us! Herobrine pushed Flare's mother back. She stumbled and regained her balance.

"Isn't one enough Jessica?" Herobrine asked.

"Nobody asked you Brine, scram!" Flare's mom said.

"Somebody asked me, and I responded," Herobrine said, nodding towards the limp Flare. Martin was watching this go down. He motioned for me to come closer, but I shook my head. I mouthed the words "The safest place for me is behind Herobrine" which was true. Martin understood and nodded.

"Move Herobrine!" Flare's mother shouted. Herobrine didn't move from in front of me. He raised his sword as if he was going into battle. I grinned slightly at not being killed, but inside I was still crushed. Poor Simon... He didn't do anything except protect, I thought sadly.

Adam walked up to me slowly, not grabbing any attention. That must've been hard on him, not getting noticed for once. He carefully dragged me back to the others. Herobrine slightly looked at us and nodded.

"Get out of here while I fight," a voice spoke in my head, which was obviously Herobrine. I nodded.

"Guys, we need to move, now," I whispered. The others all gave me a nod and approval, and Adam picked me up. We silently ran away from the fight.

"Where are they going?" I heard Flare's mom shout. It was answered with a scream. I quickly liked back, along with Adam and Brice.

Flare had jumped onto her mother's back, clinging onto her shoulders. Flare's wings flapped furiously as her mother tried to shake her off. We kept running.

   Flare's POV

I've had enough! Just absolutely enough! I called for Herobrine and he answered, surprisingly. He distracted my mother and protected Baki. I prayed that he would come as my mother raised her knife. I was stubborn, especially against my mother, and I new Baki would be safe. As soon as Herobrine nagged at my mom, catching her attention, the others ran off and I pounced.

I leapt onto my mother's back and dug my nails into her shoulder. She screamed and tried to throw me off, but I held tighter. Herobrine watched as my mother screamed and squirmed. I was enjoying this. It's cruel, I thought, but she was cruel to me for years. Now it's my turn.

I curled my tail around her neck, choking her. She fell back on top of me, but I didn't give in. She slammed her elbow into my side, but I bit down on her shoulder with my fangs, making her arm drop.

"Herobrine? The tiniest bit of help please?" I asked, not wanting him to ruin my fun, but make it better. He slid his sword to me and I grabbed in with my left hand.

"Drop.. That!" my mother shouted. My tail was still wrapped around her neck, and her face was a deep purple. I lifted the sword and, without hesitation, brought it down on her stomach. I let go of her and she got to her knees, coughing up blood. I smiled in pleasure and stood up. She glanced at me then shut her eyes tight, coughing up more blood.

"You should've never been like you were," I growled, "Were" I repeated, bringing the sword down once more. She collapsed on the ground, blood pouring from her wounds. Martin stared at me in shock.

I grinned and clutched the bloody diamond sword. I panted, realizing I had just killed someone. I felt complete, like a great weight had been lifted off my shoulders. My brother stepped back as I looked at him.

"Go Jack, live your own life, just don't bother me, or you'll share the same fate as our mother," I said, gesturing to my mom's corpse. His face was twisted in horror, and he took off running down the sidewalk. I turned towards Herobrine.

"Thanks Dad," I said, giving him a short hug.
