"I'd just tear out that page."
Elvin Bishop, Fooled Around And Fell In Love

I ARRIVED AT THE MOUNTAIN at seven am, still stiff from my stupid ankle. I had already deduced the fact that Superboy and M'gann were definitely dating. I just had to wait until Artemis and Wally got together.

And then what? Came a sly voice in the back of my head.

Then... My ships have sailed! Right?...

Wrong. You know you want someone too, don't lie. A certain Robin perhaps? Or should we address him as Dick Grayson now?

I shook myself out of my thoughts. I still couldn't believe I'd told him my name, and his to me. This was getting out of control.

See?! This is what happens when you trust people!

"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" I mumbled to no one in particular as I made my way to the kitchen to eat.

"Hey!" Wally yelled, as I chewed on my snacks. "What are you doing with those? They're mine!"

"Funny," I mused, "didn't see your name on them, old chap."

"Give them back! My food!"

I hugged the crisps to my chest protectively. "No, mine!"

We began a mad chase around the cave, when Batman came in and said hastily, "Computer! Latest news!"

A live broadcast came up of an attack on Metropolis. "Do we get out there?" Ro- I mean, Dick asked.

"No. That's not why I'm here." Batman answered. "According to your information, Sportsmaster supplied the Blockbuster venom to Cobra."

"Who combined it with Bane's venom to make Cobra venom," continued Wally.

"Which the Brain used to create his own animal army!" Robin followed up.

"And upgrade Wolf," Superboy spoke, scratching his new pet.

"The Brain also used inhibitor collars, like the ones at Bellereve Penteniary." M'gann added.

"Batman, is it possible that the plant thingys are Cobra venom too?" Asked Artemis, gesturing to the plants on the screen, which were wrecking havoc.

"I had Green Lantern run an analysis; the vines do contain a form of Cobra venom varient."

"These cannot be coincidences. Criminals are operating with each other worldwide." Kaldur stated.

Huh, wonder if Dad's involved.

"It clear that the villains have formed a type of society. The attack in Metropolis is only the beginning."

"Got that right," Robin muttered. "Plants have sprouted in Tapai, Paris, Star city-" The screens went static.

"Dude!" Wally grumbled.

"It's not me!" Snapped Robin.

Then a message came up about a ransom, attacking and something called the injustice league?

I don't know, wasn't paying attention. Then Natasha came running through the zeta tube.
"Shades!" She yelled. She stopped, panting for a second, before saying, "Shades we have a huge problem!"

"What?!" I asked panicking.

"He... He's been spotted... You know who I'm... Talking about... Right?... In... Central City!..."

"WHAT?!" I screamed, dropping my crisps. "Where?!"

"In... An... A... Bar!"

"Who saw him?!"

"Me!... He saw me... Too... And then... He... He mouthed at me... He was... Going to get you!"

I had a full out panic attack. "No, no, no, no, no!" I began storming up and down, clutching at my hair.

"Who is this he?" Asked Batman.

"No one!" Natasha and I screamed simultaneously.

"Stick your nose somewhere it belongs, you silly wanker!" I added, invested in my panic.

"I've lost contact with Aqualad and the others," M'gann informed us, as me, Robin and her trekked through a thick jungle. "Should I-"

"Sorry," Robin interrupted, "that's not the gig. This is," he cleared some plants, and the three of us were looking at a massive biodome. "The Justice League central control zone! Looks like that plant," he pointed to the one on the roof, "is an antenna for controlling all the other plants."

"Who likes plants so much?" I asked.

"Well, hello," came an unfamiliar voice from behind. Then plants came from beneath us, and made sure we couldn't move. "And goodbye," the voice continued.

"Not today!"

After a bit of fighting, we took down the massive plant, just Robin and I. We planted explosives all over it, whilst the others, who had escaped, distracted the villains. It blew up in a spectacular mass of fire, shrubery, and smoke.

"Timber," we both said in unison.

As for the rest of the mission? It went smoothly. We defeated the Injustice League, but for half the time, I was thinking about Dad.

Dad, and only Dad. In fact, when we got back to the cave, I was still thinking about him.
I sat on my usual desk, feeling a little colder than normal. Wally was eating in the kitchen. M'gann was with Superboy. Kaldur was training (I think). I had no idea where Dick had got to, but he wasn't here. I was alone. Alone, and thinking overtime.

Central City? Why are you in Central City, of all places? I know you're planning something. It's just a question of where and when.

I needed to clear my head, and fast. I was feeling a little sick, to tell the truth. Slowly, I got out my music theory stuff. It was worth a go.

Damn intervals, I can't seem to get my head around them.

I began to work through the paper, but inside my thoughts were rapidly spiraling out of control.

What if he finds me? And of he does, what will he do? Will he hurt my friends? Kill them? If he lays one finger on them I'll-

"Em!" Artemis snapped me out of my daze. She grinned at me, and raised an eyebrow. "Daydreaming again? About you know who?"

"No," I said confusedly. "Why- who's you know who?"

"Oh, you know who,"

"Oh... You know who. Right. Good guess, but no."

She looked over to the zeta tube, where Robin was coming in. "You two would be adorable together,"

"Just as you and Wally would?"

"You'll never guess what; he broke his dang arm."

"He did not!"

"He did! He's such an idiot,"

"Well..." I said nervously, looking where to run after my next statement, "I do believe that idiots are made for each other."

The next fifteen minutes was spent being chased around the cave by a very annoyed Arty. It was good to have some time with her; where would I be without my friends?

Good question. Where would you be?
