"Who you gonna call?"
Ray Parker Jr, Ghostbusters

I HAD PLANNED THIS WITH DAD to help him with his shipment tonight. I was beginning to regret it, but I was getting the vibe that nobody was on great terms with each other. I was just walking around the cave, killing time, when I heard some people talking.

It sounded like Batman, Robin, Aqualad, and Red Arrow. However, it was what they were talking about that caught my interest. They were discussing the possibility of a mole on the team. Red Arrow seemed particularly convinced that someone was on the inside, but according to him, Wally, Kaldur and Dick were above suspicion.

So of course he targets the newbies. Huh. I guess it wouldn't hurt to see what he thinks about me, the enigma of the team.

They talked a bit about M'gann and Connor being the mole, which I disagreed with, thougherly. They talked a bit about Artemis, and just as I thought, Robin gave the impression that he knew her family.

That boy.

"You know who I'm so suspicious about? Shadow," Red Arrow stated. "She's been on this team for more than three months, and we still know nothing about her!"

"I am actually quite concerned about that," Batman answered. "All I managed to get out of Natasha is that she's had a bad past, and comes from a difficult family."

"Even I have to say that Shadow is proving impossible to crack," Aqualad joined in, "I tried to get her to talk about where she was from, but she just said she was from England. I think that she is also from somewhere in eastern Europe, though."

Ding, ding. Correct.

"Maybe Russia? Or maybe even Korea?" Red Arrow questioned.
I almost started to break down, laughing.

Korea?! Where'd you get that from?!

"She's not Russian. Natasha confirmed that." Batman answered. "But after conducting some research, very intimate research, I found out that she's actually from Ukraine."

I froze.
They... They found out?

"That's actually pretty surprising," Red Arrow muttered. "I would have expected her to have a stronger accent. Anything else you found out?"

"Nothing. Shadow is a slight problem with all her secrecy."

"That secrecy must be a habit. I wonder what else she could be hiding," Red Arrow growled.

"Don't!" Robin suddenly burst out, making me jump away from the door.

"Don't what? Don't tell me you're actually defending her!"

"Well, I am. We should all keep an open mind about these things. I'm positive that Shadow isn't a mole. And nothing you say can change my mind."

I heard him get up, making me run away so fast I almost tripped up over my own feet. I stumbled into the kitchen, where I found that the others had already gone to their Halloween dance. Did I forget to mention it was October 31st?

Perfect day to help Dad, huh? Atmosphere.

I wondered where Artemis had gone for a second, before deciding against it, and going to get my stuff ready. I was loading my guns, my hands trembling slightly, when I heard Robin walk into the room. He was looking annoyed, however his gaze softened considerably when he saw me.

"Hi Shades," he greeted, somewhat cheerfully.

"Mm hmm," I hummed, giving him a bashful smile.
