despite it being past midnight, on cold evening, Mackenzie May still managed to keep up the bitchiest, 'don't-fuck-with-me' look.

Number Five was quite shocked as he watched a girl, definitely the same age (physically) as him storm into the coffee shop, slam down her bag and plop herself onto the stool next to him.

"hello dear," the serving lady greeted kindly, "usual?"

Kenzie nodded tiredly, and pushed a twenty dollar bill over the countertop. "yes please, Agnes. I feel like shit."

as she pulled out her laptop, she noticed the person sitting next to her. he was definitely her age, and dressed in a school uniform that he managed to make look good.

"Why are you at a donut shop at like, midnight?" Kenzie questioned the boy, who looked over at her with a raised brow.

"I could ask you the same thing." He replied simply, taking a sip of coffee.

she snorted. "I'm hoping if I drink enough coffee maybe I'll overdose or something and have more time to complete the assignment my music teacher gave me."

Five smiled and inspected the petite girl in front of him. she had this sarcastic glint in her pretty dark brown eyes, and red colouring her pale skin from the nipping cold. dark hair held in a long ponytail spilled down her back, shining under the fluorescent lights.

"Sorry to say, but I don't think you can overdose on coffee." He said, watching as she sighed dramatically. "There's always a first for everything. I'm Mackenzie, but everyone calls me Kenzie."

she held out her hand for him to shake, which he did. her hand was warm to the touch, and silky soft. "I'm Five. And I think I'll call you Pixie."

Kenzie grinned. "Very well then, Five."

just as her coffee and donut were placed down, men in black with fucking guns swarmed the shop. she screamed, but it was stifled by her hand.

they were here for Five, and Kenzie wondered if he was some kind of prison escapee, but her train of thought was cut when Five teleported

like, he actually disappeared and ended up halfway across the shop.

Kenzie screamed loudly and grabbed her stuff, falling to the ground while simultaneously trying to cover her head.

'as if that will stop bullets dumbass.' her consciousness mocked, making her roll her eyes. "Fuck off." She murmured, trying to distract herself desperately from the blazing guns.

she gasped when she saw an opportunity to get the hell out of there, and shoved her things into her bag. no one noticed. they were focused on Five.

Kenzie ran.
