chapter eight ↴ seriously going down hill

"should we wake them up?"

Kenzie groaned and snuggled into her pillow, shivering as she did so. who the fuck was talking so loud? also, why was her pillow abnormally warm?

she peeled her eyes open and looked around sluggishly. where was she? memories of last night flooded back to her.

she had fallen asleep in a library with Five.

"shit, I can tick falling asleep in a closed library off my bucket list huh?" Kenzie muttered, eyes fluttering closed.

"come on, grab them."

Kenzie woke up in a bed by to Five, who sat by her legs speaking to somebody.

she yawned and sat up, looking around curiously. "where am I?"

"this is Diego's place." Five answered, laying back down next to her as she threw her legs over his. "why are we here again?" "because you two were asleep in the library." Luther responded with an accusing look at the two teens.

Kenzie rolled her eyes. "chill you tits Luther. it's not like we fucked on a bed made of books." Five went red. "really, Pixie—" "I have more dignity then that sister." she continued, ignoring the fact that Five was extremely flustered.

a loud bang echoed through the room as Diego stormed in, rage painted clearly on his face. "you!" he yelled, lunging for Five.

Kenzie flinched and pulled Five back, but Luther had caught Diego and was holding him tightly.

"let me go Luth—"

"my neck, my back, lick my pus—"

Kenzie went red as she fished her phone out of her pocket with a sheepish smile. "don't look at me like that!" she defended, clicking answer. "It was a dare, excuse me."

she closed the door behind her and was surprised to find herself in a gym, but looked over that as she pressed the phone to her ear.

"Dad?"

"Kenzie! thank god I got a hold of you!" her father sighing in relief from the other side of the phone in some tropical island.

Kenzie smiled and swallowed. "what's up, Dad? how's the honeymoon?"

"it's going great, Kenz! Listen, Maria and I are thinking about extending our trip, would that be okay with you?"

Kenzie bit her lip, tears forming in her eyes, but in a crackly voice she managed to reply, "yeah, that's cool."

"great! we'll see you when we get back!" he said hurriedly, as if she was just some minor inconvenience.

she felt her heart drop to her stomach. he wouldn't see her because they wouldn't get back. the world was ending in a few days.

"I love you, Dad. thank you for everything you've done for me." she whispered, leaning against the wall.

"I love you too Kenz! See ya!"

Beep.

Kenzie's father was gone, and she would probably never see him again. cool. great. just wonderful.

"my life is seriously going down hill." she muttered as she entered the flat again.
