chapter seventeen ↴ let's get some action up in this bitch

"where'd Five go?" Luther asked as he came back to the group.

Kenzie shrugged, "we don't know, he disappeared without a word."

Sighing, Luther said, "oh for the love . . . Where'd he go?"

"didn't tell us," Kenzie supplied helpfully.

"well, we're not waiting for him. The concert starts in thirty minutes." He said decidedly, ignoring Kenzie when she mimicked him, making Klaus giggle.

"alright so what's the plan?" Diego questioned, scoffed when Luther stuttered out some kind of bullshit.

Kenzie and Klaus started to laugh when they fought about family issues. "dude your family is totally messed up." she whispered dramatically, as though they were in some kind of dramatic show.

"I know right!" Klaus agreed in a faux posh voice. "Luther even accused us of murdering daddy!" he continued, both of them slipping into fits of giggles.

stop it you two, allison wrote on her notepad with an insisting look.

the two shared a glance but then sighed. "yes madam." Kenzie mocked quietly, once again falling into giggles with Klaus.

"Klaus, your brothers are seriously fucking me off! seriously, this is boring, let's get some action up in this bitch!"

so maybe Kenzie shouldn't have said that, because running down a bowling alley while trying not to be shot by actual bullets was not her definition of fun.

"go, go, go!" she shouted, pushing the person in front of her forwards. "let's go people, we're not gonna get shot today!"

they slid through the place where the bowling balls go, and high tailed it out of the building. Klaus and Kenzie were giggling afterwards, drawing weird looks from the siblings as they made their way to the show.

"alright," Luther began in his 'number one' voice. Kenzie immediately zoned out, not in the mood to listen to him, until everyone split up.

"hold up, what am i doing?" she asked Klaus, panicked.

he sighed. "we're on watch." he explained, seemingly annoyed at that.

Kenzie followed Klaus as he went to get a burrito, sighing at the whole situation.

"you know, Klaus. if we don't make it out alive, i'm really glad i met you." Kenzie murmured, sadness seeping into her tone. "this whole thing made me realise how genuinely precious human life is. a month ago i thought i had my whole life ahead of me, and yet in less then an hour the entire planet is gonna go up in a giant wave of flames."

Klaus sighed and threw his arm of Kenzie's shoulders. "i'm glad i met you too, Kenz. i- oh shit."

her head snapped to where klaus was looking, and she let out a quiet, "holy fuck. it's happening."

"no time to worry now, Kenz! come on!"

"guys? is that a big moon rock coming towards us or is it just me?" Kenzie questioned, exhaustedly slumping in Five's arms.

immediately, as always, five had a plan. a crazy plan that he didn't even know if it would work.

but they stood in a circle, hands connected, and with all his might and fight, Five Hargreeves got a spark going. the spark expanded, until a blue light was zipping around them.

Kenzie watched in shock as the adults shrunk back to their thirteen year old bodies, which was honestly hilarious to her. "hold on!" Five shouted over the roar of the oncoming flames.

Kenzie clutched his and Diego's hands, silently sending a prayer to whatever higher power their was. just as screams of the flames got to them, the circle of teenagers disappeared in blue light, sending them off into the unknown.

yeah, really sorry about that, but merry Christmas!
