Newt POV.
The next week flew by in a happy kind of bliss. Ably was either too scared or too emotionally bruised to come near Teri again. Gally came out and said he was dating Ben, who began sitting with us. No one dared to bother me or Tommy, news of what had happened at the shopping centre spreading. It was awesome, being with Tommy openly. I awoke with a smile on my face on Saturday morning, Malia waking me up before I normally do. She looked as though she hadn't gotten a wink of sleep, and that is something I do not doubt. I sat up to look her in the eyes, only then noticing how nervous she was.
"Lia, what is it?" I ask sleepily, rubbing sleep from my eyes. Her hands opened to reveal a small box, velvet lid shut.
"I need your help." Malia looked at me pleadingly as I took the box from her hands. Lifting the small lid, I gaze at it's contents in surprise and awe. The silver ring glinted in the low morning light seeping through my curtains, me gasping when I first caught sight if it. It was a simple silver band, an infinity sign carved onto it's surface expertly.
"I don't know if I'm rushing or not, and I know I'm only 20 and have my whole life ahead of me and stuff. The boy is also the one who's traditionally supposed to propose, but I just couldn't wait. I-I love Stiles and I don't want him to slip between my fingers before I can prove it." Malia rambled, her nervousness making so much sense.
"And this is what you asked Tommy about on Monday?" I ask, her nodding in reply.
"I wanted to ask his permission, which I got... thankfully." Malia sat down on my bed, eyes once again pleading.
"What do you need my help with?" I ask, leaning against the headboard.
"Figuring out my game plan. What do I say, where, who's there... you know, stuff like that." Malia said, shaking my arm desperately.
"Fine." I say, drawing out the 'e'. Malia squealed and hugged me, pulling away when I cleared my throat.
"Ok, this is what you're gonna do..."
(Time skip)
Tommy and I sat in a booth opposite to Malia and Stiles, who were chatting happily. We were at the coffee shop Tommy and I went on our first date. It's been so damn long since I've seen my sister smile like that. She smiled so wide, eyes squinting with the force of her smile. I looked at Tommy, who had caught onto what this was. Teri then walked in, sitting beside Tommy. One more person to go. A few minutes later, a figure stood beside the table. Sonya had her hair pulled up into a ponytail, black rimmed glasses perched upon the bridge of her nose. Her kind eyes landed on me, a smile pulling at her lips. Her gaze then swept to Malia, and she became awkward.
"Hey Malia..." Sonya shifted her weight from foot to foot; one of her nervous habits.
"Sonya, sit." Malia spoke softly, her lips formed into a kind smile. Sonya sat beside Malia, loose strands of blonde hair tickling her cheeks.
"Um... how on earth do I start this..." Malia furrowed her eyebrows, taking a deep breath. She looked to me in confirmation and I nodded, prompting her to talk. "Well, I wanted everyone most important to Stiles and I to be here, because I have something to say." Malia takes a deep breath and puts her hand in her pocket, Tommy grabbing my hand under the table. "Stiles, I love you. I know that sounds kind of lame, but it's true. I love you so much my heart feels as though it may burst. God, I sound so stupid right now... but its all true. And, as you can tell, I struggle to put my emotions into words. So instead, I'll put it into actions. Stiles, I know this is kind of unconventional, because it's supposed to be the guy, but did you maybe wanna marry me?" Malia took out the box, opening it and holding the ring out to Stiles. He looked completely dumbstruck, his eyes wide as he stared at the ring. He lifted a hand up, clearly unable to speak. Malia laughed at her stupid fiancé and slipped the ring on his ring finger. He looked at it for a moment, before bursting into happy tears. He hugged Malia and smiled like a madman. Malia couldn't stop smiling, hugging Stiles back and laughing at him.
