Chapter 2

Your POV

The walk to the center of Shigansha so far had been pretty uneventful and boring outside of kicking a few pebbles here and there. You were walking up a small path about to turn a corner and heard some commotion it sounded like a few kids arguing, you'd normally ignore whatever it was that was going on and continue about your day cause it was none of your business. 'It's probably over a stupid thing like cheating in a game or something' you thought continuing your walk. You turned the corner onto a hill and saw the origin of the commotion you were hearing further up where you were  walking. There were about three boys and it looked like they were circled around a fourth one that was enclosed behind a wall "Heh, where's the sacrilege now huh!?" a spikey haired dirty blonde with a beige colored shirt on who seemed to be the leader of the group said before he grabbed the cornered boy by the collar of his coat and slammed him against the wall, "Or does your philosophy say it's wrong to fight back too?" "as a matter of fact it does, I'd rather take a few lumps than brawl like a beast!" the cornered boy spat back to the dirty blonde. This raised a red flag to you'bullying a seemingly innocent kid? oh hell no' you thought walking faster up the hill, if there was one thing you couldn't stand, it was bullying. "Oh so now I'm a beast!?" the dirty blonde shouted "Take a good hard look at yourself and tell me that you're not acting like one, you resort to violence cause your brain's the size of a walnut!" the cornered boy shouted back surprising the dirty blonde "So pummel me all you want! I've already won!" "Yeah!? well maybe I'm a sore loser!" the stunned dirty blonde shouted before raising his fist "I suggest not doing that" you said finally reaching the group walking slowly towards them "Yeah!? Or else what princess!?" the dirty blonde said throwing the boy he had cornered who you could now see was a blonde as he turned to you "Or else I'll beat you so hard your offspring will feel it" you spat back at him with threatening glare "Oh that's it!" he shouted before running at you and throwing a weak punch at your face, you casually dodged it and landed a heavy punch to his jaw, feeling the bones break under your fist, knocking him back a bit. "You little bith!" he shouted at you running attempting to go for a kick, you ducked under it and sprung back up and uppercutted him in the chest before you kneed him, then you kicked his right knee forcing him to fall on it, ending your attack with a headbutt making him stagger back again, shocking both the blonde boy and the other bullies. You looked at the bullies and gave them an icy glare "Anyone else?" was all you asked  and they all whimpered in fear "Then beat it" and with that they ran off screaming. You turned to the blonde and extended your gloved hand to him which he gladly took "You alright?" he struggled a bit before getting up with your help "I'm alright....thank you, I've never seen such technique before" the boy praised after dusting himself off "My name is Armin Arlert what's yours?" "(L/N), (F/N) (L/N)" you answered the boy. "Armin!" you turned and looked up the hill to see two figures running towards where you were, an emerald eyed boy and a ravenette who looked oddly familiar. "What happened to you Armin? Did she do this!?" the boy asked "No actually the opposite she saved me, this is (F/N), (F/N) this is Eren and the girl over there is Mikasa" Armin said introducing you to the pair that came up to you and Armin. Getting a better look at the two you instantly recognized them, the boy and girl you saw on that night, you gasped and started to hold your head at the memories that came back to you. "Hey are you ok?" you snapped out of it when you heard the sound of Armin's voice "Yeah....I'm fine" "Anyway we're heading to the center of town, wanna come with us?" "Yeah I was headed there anyway till I bumped into Armin" "Well then lets all go together!" Eren yelled.

Time skip~

"So why were those jerks bullying you anyway?" you asked "Well they just heard me babbling on about how humanity's future laid beyond the walls, I doubt they understood half of it but still" "Idiots!" Eren said throwing a rock "Why's it gotta be this way? Why can't they let us dream?" "It's cause the walls are a powerful idea, we've survived 100 years because of them, no one's keen on tempting fate" you interjected "I may not agree with that sentiment but I see where they're coming from" Armin added "When all is said and done the government's policies are a reflection of our fear" "Yeah the rest of the herd maybe, I say to hell with them!" Eren said rather loudly "Someone's gonna hear you. Keep it down" Mikasa spoke for the first time since you've met her. "What do I care!? You'll rat me out either way!" "I never promised you anything" "Your folks know about the scouts?" Armin asked "Basically, and they're not too pleased" "Yeah, big shock" Armin said sarcastically "Joining the scouts is a noble thought Eren, it's sad, what most people are willing to settle for in exchange for some fleeting sense of security. And make no mistake it absolutely is fleeting, the walls can't hold forever. It's only a matter of time until something comes and takes everything we love away from us and when that time comes, we'll need people, strong people, to take what's ours back for us" you stated knowing the cold hard truth of the world "Agreed" Armin replied as the four of you sat and watched the sunset. "Hey (F/N)!" you heard a voice call. Looking up to see where the call came from you saw a brunette girl, her hair was in a long ponytail that reached to her mid-back with locks of loose hair hanging to the left of her head that stopped just above her shoulder and she had jade green eyes, she was followed by another girl with golden blonde hair that looked almost ginger like that just reached the top of her shoulders and had blue eyes. "Sarah, Daisy" you said flatly greeting your two friends "We've been looking all over for you!" the brunette shouted much louder than you would have liked her to "Simmer down Sarah! I just got caught up helping someone" you said. Sarah is a very energetic person and needs someone to calm her down a lot of times when she gets too excited but you liked her. Up until a few minutes ago she was one of the only people that treated you like an actual person and didn't look at you like a freak. "I was so worried about you! I hope you didn't get into a fight again" "I didn't start it this time Daisy, besides those guys deserved it" "You say that every time you get into a fight (F/N)" Daisy said rolling her eyes "Yeah yeah whatever mom" you emphasized the "mom" part, that was your nickname for Daisy since she had the personality of a mother, kind, gentle, loving and could get a little too worried sometimes, she pouted in response.
