Chapter 17

Night had fallen and everyone had gotten off their horses to walk through the pathway to Shiganshina in the mountains. Using lamps made from the crystal ore underneath the Reiss chapel had made navegating a whole lot easier than it would have been with simple torches, you had strapped your bandolier onto your horse to give your body time to rest from carrying them for hours. You sighed wiping some sweat off your forehead and turned over to Sarah "It's nearly dawn and we're still not close to the foot?" she huffed and straightened her body out "Not quite but if we can get past this mountain we'll be in very close proximity to Shiganshina" you nodded at her words and continued walking.

"Halt! Titan to the left illuminate the area!" everyone stopped and flashed their lamps on the titan. Hanji moved through everyone and examined it "It's okay he's dozing off, this little one doesn't seem to be one of the newer types that can move around at night. Phew heh heh, we'll leave him be" everyone proceeded as planned until Dirk's voice rang out amongst all the soldiers "We've spotted the foot of the mountain, I can see the old trail just up ahead!" Sarah shook her hair looking ahead "We're almost there I can hear the sound of the river" "Finally. After five years, we're back" Daisy said in awe. Erwin looked at the wall with determination in his eyes "All soldiers get on your horses and proceed to wall Maria at once!!"

It was finally dawn and the scouts had successfully entered wall Maria "The sun is starting to rise be careful of hiding titans!! CONTINUE THE OPERATION, ALL SOLDIERS DEPLOY OMNI-DIRECTIONAL MOBILITY GEAR!!!" Hanji's team had hooked onto the wall and flew off to the outer gate 'The enemy's goal is to capture Eren. We don't know whether they're aware that he now has the hardening ability, but if they know we're here they probably assume we'll at least have some way to seal the wall. They've likely figured out that we'll try to repair the outer gate. After all, the importance of that basement in Shiganshina is already known to our enemies so they'll guess that Eren will be at the outer gate when it's closed. But what they haven't guessed...is that we'll have one hundred soldiers hiding their faces with their hoods heading for the outer gate all at once. By the time they know which one of us is Eren the gate will already be sealed. Once we have both gates completely closed off any incoming threats from outside will be neutralized, we'll then exterminate any titans that remain on the inside of the walls'

Erwin's plan repeated itself in your head as you untied your hair hair and shook it free before pulling your hood up. You slowly drew your blades while standing on your horse and shot an anchor into the wall jumping into the air and launching yourself towards it rolling in mid air landing on the top with your sub-squad following. "Don't stop get to the outer gate!!" the soldiers gave out a 'yes sir' and started moving out, you began to jog with your squad until Abel's voice got your attention "(F/N)! You might wanna see this!" you ran over to his crouched down form and looked at what he had discovered "Ashes from a campfire they must've rushed down the wall" he informed you making you glare extremely hard at the ashes "Reiner and Bertholdt are here and close by. This isn't good. Erwin!!" you yelled turning to said commander getting him to come over to you "We got something, remains of a campfire from the enemy" he let out a a hum staring at the ashes and signaled for Armin to come over to the rest of you "I want you five and Arlert to search the premises, look for anything you can to give us a clue to the enemy's whereabouts" "Understood" you nodded and started scaling down the wall.

Eren had successfully sealed the wall with his hardening ability making everyone at the outer gate shoot out green flares as a signal to proceed to the outer gate "Alright he did it! We just need to close off the inner gate and we're set!" you turned to Sarah and shook your head "Not yet, as long as they're alive they'll keep breaking through the wall. Until we kill all of our enemies including Reiner and Bertholdt the operation isn't over" "Look!" Armin yelled pointing to various items scattered in the grass, everyone ran over and inspected the small area "What is all this?" Marlowe asked looking confused "Camping equipment from the looks of it" Daisy noted.

"Squad commander I've found something!" everyone ran over to Marlowe and saw cups on the ground, Abel picked them up and inspected them "Tea? No, it's some sort of black liquid...what is this stuff?" "It smells good" Armin commented "Squad commander I don't understand why are there three?" you then hardened your face "He's here" everyone gasped and turned to face you "The beast titan is without a doubt hiding with our enemies. Let's get back to Erwin" After reporting the findings Erwin left a group of soldiers under the lead of Armin to find where the traitors were hiding, after reconvening he came up with the idea that they may be hiding inside the wall. 

"Here! There's a hollow spot here!" Daisy's voice rang out as she shot an acoustic round. What happened next made your heart drop, a blade had been thrust straight through her chest. She reached her arm out to your form that was ontop of the wall with an expression mixed with shock and pain before she took her final breath and fell to the ground lifelessly "NOOOOOO!!!" Sarah's yell echoed throughout your head as someone came out of the hole in the that was placed in the wall turning out to be none other than the amored titan himself "Reiner!!" Armin froze as Reiner inched towards him. Hate and rage had consumed your entire body "Rat bastard....I'LL MURDER YOU AND ANYONE ELSE YOU'RE AFFILIATED WITH YOU COWARDLY SON OF A BITCH!!!" you took your right blade and threw it directly at his nape completely impaling his neck, you jumped down and grabbed him by his neck with your right hand letting your grip dangle in the air and dragged his head on the leaving a trail of blood. Holding him out infront of your body you took your left blade and shoved it right through his chest, you thought his life was ended but his eyes rolled back forward making you gasp 'Impossible!' thinking fast you kicked him off your blade sending him plummeting down to the ground.

"How did he survive that!? I saw the life drain from his eyes right infront of me! FUCK!!!" you yelled slamming your fist on the wall  "(F/N)?!" you heard Armin call out to you "I tried my hardest......but I wasn't able to kill him...what kind of ability is this?" you watched as Reiner slammed into the ground and transformed "Check all around us!!! Capture any other enemies and-" a big explosion followed by large flashes of green cut off Erwin "INCOMING!! EVERYONE TAKE COVER!!!" the next instant a boulder collided with the gate blocking it completely "Our entrance..."
