We get to the bar in one piece and find Hunter and Casian already at our booth. This is gonna be hard to explain. Knowing them they are gonna freak out.
"Hey y'all"
"Sup' losers"
"Y'all our never gonna believe the morning I just had."
"Oh no babe, what happened?"
"Yeah, you said you'd explain once we got here."
"Ok so it started when I entered the kitchen.."
It took me a little over an hour to explain the whole thing. This was due to their constant interruptions. These interruptions included exclamations of outrage, vague threats and many many questions. But I finally got them to calm down enough to finish.
"...then Jake and I started walking over here. The end."
The looks on their faces can only be described as pure rage.
Well that's not good.
Thankfully Papa G walked over with the food. Not even those three are stupid enough to leave a table after being presented food, especially Papa G's food.
That's basically commiting suicide.
"Hey hon, come here for a second I want to talk to you."
Oh boy this can't be good.
"Hey Papa what's up?"
"Well I couldn't help but overhear y'all's conversation."
"Meaning you were eavesdropping."
"Hush child, I'm trying to impart wisdom on to you."
"Sorry, sorry I'll be quiet."
"Good. Now anyway. I understand what those brothers of yours put you through, but take it from an old man with no family left. Keep them close. Yes, your angry now, which is totally understandable, but I promise you you'll regret not mending your relationship with them."
"You sound like your speaking from experience."
"Well that's because I am. A long time ago my brother and I had a huge falling out, over this bar of all places. Our dad left it to me in the will but my mom promised it to my brother. I tried to reconcile by making us co-owners, but he was having none of that. I haven't spoken to him in ten years and to be completely honest I don't know if I ever will."
"I'm so sorry, that's awful."
"It is, which is why I'm giving you this advice. Take it from someone who knows, there is nothing you'll regret more if this relationship with your brothers doesn't get fixed. I know it's hard to be the bigger person but someone has to be, so why not you?"
Wow, this really put things into perspective. I thanked Papa G, gave him a hug, and went back to the table.
"Hey guys after breakfast I'm gonna go back home and talk to my brothers."
"Oh you finally decided to reconcile?"
"Yeah Cas, I think it's time."
"We're proud of you babe. We know this won't be easy for you."
"Thanks Hunter, This is just something that's long overdue."
I leave the bar and start the short trek home where an apology and hopefully a still-intact house await. I walk in the house and everything is relatively quiet.
"Hello?"
"In here!"
I walked into the kitchen with all the boys making mac and cheese? That's weird.
"Hey, what are y'all doing?"
"Well, we realized how wrong we've been so we figured a good way to start with our apology would be to make your favorite meal," Alec answered.
Oh man, that's actually really sweet and thoughtful and they remembered my favorite food!
"I actually wanted to talk to y'all about that. I've realized I've been way harsh.
I was just really hurt and all of a sudden y'all showing up out of nowhere threw me for a loop. But after many different discussion I've realized that the only way to move on is to forgive and forget. It'll be hard but I'm willing to try if you guys are?"
It was silent for a couple of seconds but then Seb answered.
"Of course we are, now come over here and give me a hug."
I ran over to him with a big grin on my face and for the first time in a while I knew everything was going to be ok.
