So, I need a new cover for this fic because the current one is a temporary one. If you're good at making covers please message me. You will get credit.
"Ashton! Ashton! Ashton!"
"Whaaaaat?" I groan into my pillow. I really shouldn't be so mean to my little brother. I sit up and look at him.
"It's breakfast time." He smiles.
I yawn, "I'll be down in a second."
He runs out of my room and I listen to his small feet hit the stairs.
I pull the covers off of me and go to look in my mirror. My hair is standing up in all different directions and my eyelids are still heavy with sleep.
"Ashton!" A sweet, soft voice calls.
"Be right there, mom!"
I run my fingers through my hair to try and tame it, even in the slightest. I give up though and just head to breakfast.
Harry and my father are sitting at the table both with plates of pancakes in front of them. My mother sits one down and my usual spot.
"How'd you sleep?" She asks.
"Fine." I smile.
After fixing her own plate, she sits to join us. We eat in an awkward display of forks hitting plates and finally my mother speaks up, again.
"Ash, honey, do you remember when you were younger and would have play dates with Mary Lou's daughter?" She smiles curiously.
I slowly nod, "Yes ma'am."
"Well, I know I told you to stay away from her but it's her birthday, you remember we would have y'all's party at the same time. Anyway, I agreed to let you go on a date with her, her parents have called a few times saying that's all she wants and Jesus would want you to go." She explains.
I stuff pancake in my face.
My dad looks up at me, waiting for me to respond.
"If that's what Jesus would want." I smile at them.
The nervous expression leaves my mothers face in a sigh of relief.
"Just don't do anything I wouldn't."my dad laughs.
My mothers eyes go wide and says "Oh, before I forget, your uncle is coming to stay with us tomorrow. He'll be sleeping in your room, Ash, you'll have to share with Harry."
I internally groan, knowing it would be rude to do so out loud.
"Yay!" Harry says, excitedly.
My uncle isn't the kind of of man people enjoy. He's rude. I know I'm supposed to respect him but I sometimes feel he uses Gods word in a manipulative way.
I can't believe my parents don't see right through it.
