I got to work and saw Mr De Luca's door close, so I knew he was already at work. I look down at my watch and saw that I still have fifteen minutes to spare before starting, so I walked to the small kitchen and switch the kettle on. I take a cup from the counter and decided to make some for mister boss-man as well.
I take my coffee and put it on my desk, then walk to his office. I knock lightly and open the door. Stefano was sitting behind his desk with his hair bowed, going through some files. He looks up when I enter and by his looks, he was here half the night. His clothes were creased and his eyes were bloodshot.
"Sir, I brought you some coffee and you have a meeting at nine. Also, Mister Rameau will be here at noon to do the fitting of your suit." Stafano looks at me and asked why he needs a suit, so I reminded him about the Masquerade Ball. He sighs and wipe his face tiredly.
"Miss Lopez, could you take out some clothes for me while I wash up and you better remind me what the meeting is about." I think twice about rolling my eyes at him and started telling him about the meeting as quickly as I can, then walk to the closet to take his clothes out as I see him walking to the small bathroom. There's no way in hell that I wanna see my boss half naked again. I took out a suit and matching shirt, then scratch around for socks and a tie.
I hear the water stop running and put his things outside the bathroom door on a chair and rush towards the door. I make it to the door and just as I wanted to open it, the bathroom door opened. "Miss Lopez, where are you running off too." I didn't dare turn around. Shit, why couldn't he just come out of the bathroom a few seconds later.
"Miss Lopez, do you mind looking at me when I talk to you. I don't like talking to someone's back." He sounded slightly amused and I turn around slowly, every nerve in my body on edge. He had his pants and socks on and I see him struggling to button up his shirt. My hands twitched to help him at that moment, but I force myself not to move. Oh man, what is happening to me. Why do I feel like this, I can't be falling for my boss, that is impossible.
I look up and our eyes met, mine nervous and his eyes had amusement. Wait, what... why will he be amused. "Miss Lopez, what is going on in that mind of yours. I've asked you twice now to help me with my tie." Is this man crazy, how can I stand that close to him. "I'm still waiting, you know and I don't have all day." Dammit...dammit to hell. As I don't have much of a choice, I walk forward and helped him with his tie, but made sure not to make eye contact.
I step away a safe distance from him when I was done and asked if there was anything else he needed before I go. When he didn't answer, I turn and walk back to the door. "Miss Lopez, is there anything going on between you and my brother that I should know of." To play it safe, I asked him why he would ask me that question. "Why indeed Miss Lopez....., I have to know what's going on in my brother's life, so is there anything between you guys."
"What if there is something going on between me and Diablo, what will you do about it." I don't know why I just asked him that, but its to late to take my words back now. I see the anger in his face and he walks slowly towards me. "If there's anything going on between you and Diablo, it ends now." I turn and looked him straight in the eyes. "Mr De Luca, let's get one thing straight, I might work for you, but what I do in my private life is not your business. If I wanna see Diablo and he wants to be with me, there is nothing you can do about it."
Stefano moved so fast that I nearly lost my balance and stood right infront of me. "Dammit, stay away from my brother, he is not for you." The bloody nerve of a man. Does he think I'm not good enough for his brother. Gosh, I've been friends with Diablo for ages and nothing more, but I won't tell him that.
You can't tell me what to do in my free time. In fact, I have a lunch date with Diablo today and I will see him." I move away from Stefano when I see the rage on his face and walked out the door. Dammit, why did I let him think that there is more than friendship between me an Diablo. I got back to my desk and took my phone out quickly and send a message. 'Could you pick me up at lunchtime, will explain later.'
Two minutes later, he replies back. 'Oh, now I'm sooo excited. Can't wait.' I smiled when I read the message and put the phone back into my bag. "Miss Lopez, don't you have work to do or is it a habit to do your own thing at work." I nearly jumped out of my skin when I hear him talk and rather than waking the devil in him, I look at him and smiled. "Sorry sir, it won't happen again."
