"Miss Lopez, could you come into my office and bring  me some aspirin as well," my boss said into the intercom. "I'll be right there sir," I said and got up. I took some aspirin from the bottle in my draw and walked to his office and knocked before walking inside.

"You wanted to see me sir." He holds his hand out and I gave him the tablets, which he swallowed down with some water. I bet he had one of his rough nights again with one of his bimbo's. I've been working six years for Stefano De Luca and in that time I have seen him hooking up with numerous woman, all of them looks like plastic Barbie's. I guess you can never change a womaniser.

Every second day there would be some scandalous story about him in one of the papers or magazine's and everytime there would be a new female hanging on his arm. A few times some of the woman will come to the office and force their way to see him. Sometimes he would allow it and other times he would call for security to throw them out and usually he would just laugh it away.

It was while I'm waiting for him to tell me why he called me to his office, that the door burst open and Stefano's dad walks in with a newspaper in his hands and he was pissed. He throws the paper down on the table and points to it. "I've had it with you Stefano, every damn newspaper is talking about you and some blond bimbo who went butt naked into the lake for a late night swim. What the hell is wrong with you for doing things like this." By now his dad was screaming at him, so I pick up my notebook and mumbled that I would come back later, before walking back to the front desk.

I sit down by my desk and went through my messages quickly and saw that there was one from Mia, telling me that she would get us some Chinese food, as she would be home early today. Mia works as a nurse at a medical hospital and she loves what she's doing. I reply back on her message quickly and put my phone inside my bag. I kept myself busy with filing while listening to the argument inside the office. Its a good thing that Mister De Luca don't have any appointments for this morning, because what example would it set if people should hear the shouting.

I still remember the first time I applied for the job here. After our parents died in a car crash, I told Mia that we need a new beginning, so we packed up everything we wanted to bring with us and sold the rest. I bought us a second hand car, big enough to fit all our things and we came to Italy.

We bought a small two bedroom apartment, but knew that we both need a job as soon as possible, because after the funeral and paying my parents debts, there was not much money left. It took Mia three weeks to find a job as a nurse, but unfortunately I wasn't that lucky. My first job was working as a waitress, but I walked out after two weeks, because my boss found a problem with everything the girls did. Three days after I've left there, I found a job at a local pub and I kind of liked it there.

My new boss Mister Edward Crowley warned me from the start that the money wasn't much, but he was willing to help me out until I can find something better. One day he came to me while I was going through a newspaper to see what jobs was available and told me about De Luca Enterprises who was looking for someone. The job was for a junior assistant. He gave me the number and address and I phoned them immediately for an appointment. It was in fact Mrs De Luca who interviewed me the next day and four days later, they phoned me back and told me that I have the job.

It took me less than a year to proof to the company how well I could manage things and I was promoted to work in the top offices and that's how I started working as Mister De Luca's assistant. I still remember how he used to complain that a woman doesn't know anything about running a company, but I made him swallow his words within a week. I've never had any problems with him trying to seduce me or even look at me twice, because my previous boss warned me in advance about Stefano De Luca's reputation with females.

I made sure to wear loose clothes and my hair was always up in a tight bun. I also wear my reading glasses around the office, so there's no way he will look at me in any way, except as his assistant. Over the years, he would talk openly about the woman he hangs out with as if its some great achievement. I'm usually the one that have to send them flowers or expensive gifts and I can't even remember how many hearts he have broken.

Now I'm sitting and listening to him and his dad arguing about more scandal he brought onto his family. A short while later his dad came out of the office and came to stand before my desk. "I'm sorry that you had to hear the argument between me and my son again, Miss Lopez. God, why couldn't my son just settle down with a good woman like yourself."

I went red in the face, but thought it wise not to say anything back to him, so I just carried on with my work and a few minutes later he walks out the door and I sigh in relieve. I don't wanna get involve with the De Luca's family problems.
