The response to the story is soo low, do you want me to stop it?  Is the plot boring?..
They had said yes to him. He couldn’t realize it yet. He couldn’t realize yet that he had got a chance to
be an actor. And not a simple actor but the main lead of the show. Noxie couldn’t realize it yet. He had
got the call a while after dropping his wife to school and was to go to the channel office to discuss with
the producers. As he went there, he met with Afreen Khan the producer and the rest of the production
house, Five Tigers. He also met with the female lead Padma Malik. She was beautiful and was slightly tan.
Her hair was reaching her waist and she had decided to use the natural make up. Nakuul would give her
25 years old. He sat next to her while Afreen gave them a warm smile.
“Look at them Riya, they already look like the perfect jodi!” Afreen said at her co-writer. Nakuul smiled
at her but it looked more like a fake smile.
“Well, since you’re both here, I’ll let you go through the contract and sign it. It’s just a formality since I
think you both already look good together!” Afreen added.
Nakuul read through the contract and was about to sign when he saw the last paragraph.
“What do you mean by dating her?” He asked eyeing at his probably new co-star.
“Well, since we are new in the TV industry, our name isn’t really known, hence the TV show may not
grow as strong without a bit of publicity. So we thought about this fake dating drama so the fans will be
more attracted if the jodi is also together in real life.. and maybe it can turn to be true..” Riya explained
leaving Nakuul in a big dilemma.
“But I’m already committed..” He said, slightly touching his ring finger, where the ring laid oh so royally.
“Listen if you’re not ready to make compromises, you can still walk out of this, I can get you replaced
easily but you will hardly find someone ready to hire a novice like you. Moreover there hadn’t been
news of you being committed or something like this. This is just a question of a few months.” Afreen
finally revealed her true colours living Nakuul shocked.
“Let me talk about it with her.” He simply said.
“I want the answer by the end of the week.” Afreen said while Nakuul nodded and left after the meeting
was over. Instead of going to pick Surbhi up, he went to the beach and sat on the sand. Both of them
had a close relationship with the sea. Surbhi was actually born in that same sea he was looking at
because her mother had asked the delivery to go that way. Since then she had a close connection with
this beautiful sea. Her love for the sea was so strong that it eventually got transferred to Nakuul who
saw in the sea the way of believing that he could reach great heights if he wanted to. The sea has been
the witness of a lot of things. It has been in front of the sea that he asked her out, the beach had been
their first date, the place of their wedding and where they became one in all senses.
Nakuul looked far away and thought about this contract and his wife. How could he betray her like this?
Even if it was fake dating, that meant that she couldn’t be there with him if ever he won an award, that
meant that she would be hidden from the world.. But then, saying no, would probably mean, saying no
to an opportunity to be whoever he had always dreamt to be..
He hadn’t made up his mind when he walked up to his car and went to the University to pick her up. He
had decided that they would take the decision together. She was his wife, the future mother of his
children, he would have to talk things out with her before taking any decision. Because taking decisions
in a haste and by himself had always hurt her to the core. When he outed her from them, she had
always ended up crying her heart out and asking him why he hadn’t told her before doing something
which could impact them both.
Surbhi came into the car with a big smile on her face. Nakuul smiled back at her since her smile had
always been contagious. He squeezed her hand and then kissed the top of it.
“Are you okay?” She asked as he didn’t ask her how was her day and why she was happy, the reason
being that she had got a contract with one of the best offices of lawyers in the town. And that she would
start as soon as she would graduate.
“Yes I’m, I got called by the producer. I got the role.. but there are some things I need to discuss with
you first. Let’s go home, shall we?” He asked with a lump in his throat. He had never found something as
hard as this dilemma, his dream or his lifeline?

“I understand but I’m not ready for this sacrifice Noxie. You’re asking me too much..” She removed his
hand from her cheek, got down from the kitchen slab and simply left to their room. He just stayed there and
looked at her as she did so. It was the first time that she said ‘no’ to one of his demands. It was the first
time that she refused to accept a sacrifice. Maybe he was asking too much but, she had to understand
him and his dreams.
