As soon as she reached home, Surbhi was pampered by her father, Rajeev. He had always had a soft spot for his daughter. It wasn't only a father loving his daughter. To Rajeev, Surbhi was his sun. And with the news of the fake dating drama, he couldn't suppress his thoughts of murdering his son-in-law.
"How are you daddy?" Surbhi asked, trying to sound good.
"I could have been better.. but well I won't be mourning over my state! How is my sweetie?" He inquired while taking her in a side hug.
"I'm all good, what's wrong with you?" She asked and he just chuckled. His baby would always think about others before thinking about her.
"Oh only back pain, you know my poor muscles finally wants to show me how heavy you were 15 years back, when I had to carry you to bed because you'd fall asleep in the couch!" Her father teased her and Surbhi gasped.
"I can't believe that you can be so mean! I was about to tell you that I'd give you a massage after lunch but you deserve your back pain!" She answered and pulled her tongue at him playfully before he began attacking her with tickles.
"Okay!! Stop it!" Surbhi shouted in between laughs and Rajeev hugged her tightly before kissing her forehead.
"Would you mind if I ask where you're standing with Nakuul? What's your status now?" Rajeev asked and Surbhi just hugged him tighter.
"Married?....I love him daddy, you know?" Surbhi said with a cute voice.
"Yes I know, but does he value your love?" Rajeev asked the dreadful question and she kept silent, for a while.
"I don't know..." She answered and lowered her shoulders, showing how much weight she was actually carrying in her frail shoulders.
"Do you want to stay here? I mean a few days more?" Shashi suddenly asked and Surbhi just nodded.
"It's okay, this will always be your home." Rajeev said and kissed the side of her head, then after some relaxing moments together, they ate lunch and Surbhi actually massaged her father's back.
Later that night, she sank a little more into darkness when she saw the news about Nakuul and Padma's dinner. Her parents expected her to cry but she just made up the excuse of calling Shrenu to ask her for some notes, to disappear in her room. Even there she didn't cry. She just laid on her bed, looking at the ceiling, with the sound of the waves calming her burning soul. She would never be thankful enough to her parents for having chosen this mansion nearby the sea as their home. She kissed the rings around her fingers and after debating with her inner self, she slid them off her ring finger and simply put them on her bedside table, before closing her eyes to sleep.
"I can't bear seeing her like this Shashi.." Rajeev spoke to his wife, who sighed heavily in return.
"My heart is tearing apart just by seeing a scratch on her body, I don't even know how I'm able to breathe knowing that her heart is breaking into pieces. I don't know how I can bear seeing my baby like that, jaan. I don't know what to do or what to say because she won't divorce him and I won't let her do so... As much as I hate what he's putting her through, it's so hard to forget how much he actually loves her." Shashi said and Rajeev hummed.
"It's true that they truly love each other but his actual desire to become an actor is making him take her for granted. I really think that Nakuul needs something to make him see Surbhi's value but she also needs something or someone to cheer her up..." Rajeev said, and the more he talked, the more he thought about something... or someone.
"Do you remember their old days at school?" Rajeev suddenly asked.
"Yeah, they were the number one couple, people would even call them Narbhi!" Shashi smiled nostalgically.
"Well I think that I have an idea which can probably fix their relationship?" He rather asked than declared.
"What are you thinking about Mr Chandna?"
"Avinash Khurrana!" (N/A: When Wattpad will allow me to do so, I'll add him in the character sketch but he's played by Avinash Sachdev) He exclaimed and Shashi smiled knowingly.

The evening was rough for Nakuul. He had not slept at all. Truth be told, he couldn't sleep without her. He just couldn't sleep if she wasn't in his arms. As soon as he woke up, he reached for his phone to dial her.
When she woke up, Surbhi heard her phone ringing. As she saw the caller ID, she didn't want to answer but then, her heart probably controlled her fingers because she pressed on answer and put the phone to her ear.
"Hello?" She said while rubbing her eyes.
"Hello, did I wake you up? I'm sorry if that's the case."
"It's alright, I had to wake anyways. Do you need anything?" She asked.
"Yo... Um.. I just wanted to hear your voice, that's all." He said and she could hear that he was exhausted.
"How went your date with Padma?" She suddenly asked, he could hear her voice slightly shaking.
"Awful! I just hope that this drama will end already. I'm so fed up and it's only the beginning. Hum... when are you coming back?"
"I don't know... Mom and dad haven't seen me for a while, they're not ready to let go of me yet..."
"Huh yes... it's alright... Well do they hate me too, for what I've done?"
"No, Noxie, it's not like that, it's... They're really disappointed?" She said but it sounded more like a question.
"I understand. I didn't want to hurt you Surbhi. My decision hurts you but I really want things to work out between us. I know it will be hard to fix everything but I want us to still try." He said sincerely and she looked up at the ceiling, trying to not let the tears fall.
"Mom is calling, I need to go." Surbhi answered and cut the call before he spoke. She left her room after freshening and joined her parents for breakfast.
"Surbhi, you're finally up! Look who has come to visit us!" Shashi said and Surbhi opened and closed her mouth several times before muttering, "Avi?"
