I'm happy to tell you that the new part is up earlier than I used to ^^ I heard about the cyclone in India and I hope that you're all safe and sound :*

During the journey to her parents' home, Surbhi was unusually quiet. She was just looking at the window. Shashi wanted to talk to her but she didn't, because she knew that when time would come, Surbhi would open up and tell her what was inside her heart. She was just throwing glances at her from time to time.

"Hum... how are your exams doing?" Shashi asked when she noticed tears in her daughter's eyes.

"They're so exhausting! I do my best you know, but damn, I don't even get some time to breathe!" Surbhi chuckled. Shashi just smiled but in her mind she was strangling this son-in-law of hers who was only hurting her baby girl during this period of her life, when she needed support. She also knew that it was their own issues and that she couldn't take decisions for her daughter, however, she would forever be a shoulder for her baby to cry on.

"I know what's disturbing your mind ammi. It's about Noxie and I... You're my mom, and I guess that you probably feel hurt or angry on hearing about this and I understand. He's so close to his dream and he didn't know what he was doing at that moment. He thought that he had taken this decision after debating with his inner self but I know that it was a decision taken in haste. I saw in his eyes that he felt guilty but now he's stuck , he signed that contract..." Surbhi began and looked outside the window.

"Don't you have a say?" Shashi simply asked.

"What for?" Surbhi asked back.

"You're married! He just can't put you, his wife, aside because he wants to reach fame! Surbhi, you need to understand that marriage is done equally. You took vows together and you'll accept him dating this girl because he wants to be an actor? You both need to grow up. Marriage is not a game-" Shashi was interrupted by her daughter.

"You think that I don't know that marriage is not a game? I do know. But it's his dreams! I remember the several times I had to pick the pieces of his heart each time he got rejected by those damn producers, and now, he finally got a role! The main lead... I wish nothing but his happiness! I don't want him to struggle..." Surbhi said, while fidgeting with her fingers.

"Your love is beautiful, jaan but I feel broken to know that this love makes you accept his every tantrums. I wish you to have a very successful marriage, but, Nakuul.... He needs to get his shit together. He needs to understand the value of your relationship. And the most important, he needs to figure out if fame is really more important than your wedding, your love." Surbhi just looked outside as they reached the Chandna mansion.

Nakuul was getting ready for his date with Padma when he got a call from his sister Priyanka.

 On hearing the way she called him 'Nakuul' instead of her usual Noxie, he knew that he was about to get an earful from her.

"How are you Di?" He asked.

"How am I? I shall ask you the same! Did you escape from asylum or what? How come you're dating this Najma?" Priyanka asked.

"Her name is Padma and.." Nakuul began but she interrupted him.

"I don't care about her name! What I care about is that a week ago we were all laughing and all with Surbhi, your wife, and today you're dating this girl out of nowhere?!" Priyanka vented out her anger and sighed.

"She's not my real girlfriend. It's a drama to get more views in our upcoming show..." He said and she rolled her eyes.

"With the fame in your mind you don't even realize that you're shattering your one true love." Priyanka told him more calmly.

"She's angry but she accepted this idea..." He whispered and now he could hear his elder sister groan, he could literally feel her anger.

"I didn't realize that she loves you that much. Like really, I would have slapped you across the face and here she is supporting you in your every choice, even though it means destroying herself. I just hope that YOU will realize the perfect gem you have by your side, because bro, I can assure you that this woman, if you won't change your priorities, you'll end up losing her... By the way I wanted to add, mom and dad are really angry since they heard the news, I'll suggest you to not call them and directly meet them personally, with Surbhi, because I swear they'll eat you raw." Priyanka hung up and Nakuul sighed heavily. He knew he did wrong, and he knew that his parents were literally smitten with their bahu, but he didn't know that by signing this contract, he had dug his gravestone.

Their first date was a flop. Padma talked too much and he was least interested to hear about her brand new car, or the sister of her neighbour's cousin who got married. He was thinking about Surbhi and had plastered a fake smile on his face all night long. After they had their dinner, they left and some paparazzi took pictures of them. As a gentleman, Nakuul dropped Padma home then he went back to his house. As he reached his house, he found the facade depressing. The lights were switched off and when he entered it, he had not been welcomed by her usual bubbly voice or her tender lips brushing his cheek, his lips... he reached for his phone and called her, but she didn't pick the phone. With a heavy heart, he went to sleep in the cold bed, missing her warmth.
