She was pretty silent throughout their ride back home. She hadn't talked and only hummed when he asked questions. He was really disturbed when she kept mum. But he decided to wait until they reached home. Avinash had left the house earlier that morning because his boyfriend had come to India and they had decided to live in a flat nearby, so they were alone. As soon as they entered their home, she turned and began sobbing on his shoulder.

"I don't want that Nakuul. I don't want it anymore." She was being choked by the words but she couldn't let him out of her distress.

"What's wrong Surbhi?" He inquired, taking her hands between his.

"Everything... this pregnancy is not right Nakuul!" She cried. "I can't be pregnant with our current situation! We are both jobless and it's only a question of weeks before we run out of money! How can we raise a child in this environment? And we didn't even discuss the question of a pregnancy with more than one baby! What if we're expecting more than one? We're definitely not ready for a baby, then what about twins or triplets? I won't have the heart to choose a baby over the other... it's better to end this pregnancy before it's too late!" She was definitely a crying mess at that time and he rubbed her back, kissing her forehead. He couldn't tell her that everything would be alright because he didn't know. He praised his fertile swimmers earlier that day but at the moment, he regretted their efficiency.

"Listen, we cannot kill a child who is not at fault Surbhi. Whether it was our intention or not, we created life. Our task is to take care of it. I will work hard to find a solution, but abortion is not a solution, not in that case. And then nine months is a short span of time but it's also long enough for us to be financially stable again. Trust me I will work day and night if that's necessary for you not to worry about money." He kissed her lips as if to seal the promise of togetherness in every struggle.

The sun rays peeped inside their room but she turned away from the open window to snuggle in his arms. He was half-asleep and smirked when he felt her turn to him. He hugged her and put a leg between hers, not in a romantic way, it was just his favorite position. She lowered her hand around his bare waist and pulled him closer before settling down for that position. Nakuul sighed and sleep overtook him again.

They woke up very much later, with limbs tangled with each other. Her hair was a mess and his chin covered with dry drool. Both looked as sexy as ever... note the irony! They looked at each other, smiled, got closer, and closer, with their noses touching and then...

"I need to use the bathroom!" She ran to the bathroom, holding her stomach and he understood that it was her morning nausea. So he followed her and held her hair as she emptied her stomach. She then washed her mouth in the sink. And they got ready for the day.

"You must be one of the luckiest pregnant woman ever." He said while they were having breakfast.

"Why?" She inquired before sipping in her glass of juice.

"I didn't notice you having nausea in the morning until today." He declared and she hummed.

"You're right. Actually, it happened once when I was at my parents' but except for these two times I'm pretty much okay." She shrugged her shoulders and he smiled. They finished their breakfast and left to go to the doctor for her check-up. They held hands all the way to the doctor as if giving each other a must needed strength. As they met the doctor, Ayaat Kumar, they were tensed but tried to hide it from each other.

After asking them a few questions, the doctor proceeded to the ultrasound.

"Well as you can see Mrs. Mehta, the embryo is well developed and is normal for this stage of your pregnancy. You're probably at your seventh week of pregnancy. See, here is his head and his tiny little fingers which are getting well developed. I will leave you both a few minutes to appreciate this moment." The doctor walked out of the room leaving the screen turned on.

"He's so little!" She sobbed.

"SHE is so little!" He chuckled while a few tears clouded his vision. As they looked at the screen, they held each other's hands firmly.

"I do want the baby Nakuul. We will make it, for him or her." She said and he kissed her forehead.

"Our baby."

"Mom and dad are coming home today. They will have dinner with us." Surbhi said while Nakuul was driving back home from the doctor.

"Great, we will get to tell them the news." He answered.

"I think your mom already told mine about me being pregnant. She's sending too much heart emojis for one message."

"Then they will have to act surprised! It doesn't matter, I guess if they already know." He chuckled. He knew that his mom couldn't keep a secret. He had told Surbhi to tell her parents before revealing the pregnancy to his parents but she refused so now they had to bear the consequences.

"You're right." They reached their home and got ready to meet with Shashi and Rajeev. They came around four in the afternoon and they were glad to meet Surbhi and her glow of happiness. They kissed her cheeks and also kissed Nakuul's cheeks.

"How were your exams, Sweetie?"

"Oh, it was great! I was well prepared so everything went smoothly." Shashi cupped her daughter's cheek.

"My smart baby." She smiled and Surbhi hugged her.

"And what about you Nox? We've heard about your show being canceled right?" Rajeev said.

"Yes dad, I have to find something else to do. And that too in our current situation." He said, eyeing his wife.

"What do you mean by 'your current situation'?" Shashi asked wiggling her brows. Surbhi knew that she knew.

"Well you're going to be grandparents, and I want you to see something," Surbhi said taking a CD out of her handbag. She put the CD in the CD drive and turned the TV on. Rajeev had tears in his eyes while his wife was cupping her mouth in amazement.

"What a beautiful baby... It's wonderful... He's wonderful." Shashi was completely out of words.

"You're not joking, na?" Rajeev asked like a small child.

"No daddy, your baby is indeed having a baby," Surbhi said. Rajeev got up, walked to his daughter and knelt before her before kissing her palms. Surbhi was having tears in her eyes, on living this moment with her dad. He then held Surbhi and Nakuul's shoulders.

"You both will be wonderful parents. You're now having a baby in the way, you can call yourself adults now. People say that marriage is when you lose your little girl to her partner but I don't agree with that. I think you do lose your little girl when she turns into someone's mom. But in your case, you'll always remain my little girl even though you're now my grown-up girl. I wish you both a lot of happiness and tantrums for this new phase of your marital life. May God bless you both."
