"God, where is that stupid thing?"

Rummaging through his drawers, Y/N looked for a cable that one of his friends let him borrow and that he really should give back. He had planned on returning it right after using it but got sidetracked and left it somewhere he could not remember.

Y/N scurried through his room, checking everywhere he could think of; under the bed, in his desk and bedside tables but still nothing. He sighed and looked around the room, his gaze stopping on the closet. There's no way it's there, he thought, but after running around the house for almost an hour he wasn't going to risk it.

Opening the closet, he pushed around the clothes on the hangers, checking behind and below them just to find more clothes hastily thrown in there. He reached to the shelf above, blindly moving his hand around, patting every item until his palm made contact with something that felt like what he was looking for. It can't be.

Y/N grabbed it and held his breath, slapping a hand on his forehead when he saw that it was, in fact, the thing he was looking for. "God, I'm a moron. Why did I put it there?"

Throwing the wire on the bed with a sigh, Y/N grabbed his phone from his pocket and sent a quick text to his friend, telling him he'd come over the next day to give him back the cable he needed. He then went to close the closet but stopped when something caught his eye.

A teddy bear he hadn't seen in years laid face down on the edge of the shelf. It probably got pushed to the front while he searched. Y/N grabbed it and unconsciously smiled, twirling it around his hands as if he was inspecting it. The memory of buying the stuffed animal was still clear in his head.

Jisoo didn't really care for Valentine's Day but he insisted on buying her at least the most cliché items, so he showed up during her group's practice with the teddy bear, chocolates and a bouquet of roses. The smile he received made it obvious Jisoo had hoped he would do something like that.

Jisoo. Y/N's smile fell and was hit by a wave of guilt, thinking about how their relationship ended badly because of him.

He gently sat the teddy bear on his bed and grabbed a chair to look what else was hidden away on that shelf.

Apart from a few winter accessories he never wore and a lot of dust, there was only a small black box pushed in the back. Y/N grabbed it and got off the chair, dragging it with him as he walked to the desk.

Taking a seat, he opened up the box and smiled looking at its contents, feeling a bittersweet emotion swell up in his chest.

He flipped through a couple of pictures of Jisoo and him, also taking out the sunglasses he hated with a chuckle. In his heart he still had hope for them to work things out and maybe this was a sign.

Y/N found himself staring at the teddy bear and, without thinking, grabbed his phone and opened Jisoo's contact.

[Y/N, 17:24]
Hey, I found something of yours in my house.
Want it back?

[Kim Jisoo, 17:35]
Hey. What is it?

[Y/N, 17:37]
You'll have to meet up with me to find that out.

[Kim Jisoo, 17:40]
🙄
The usual café in an hour?

They haven't hang out together in that place for two years but she still referred to it as the 'usual'. Cute.

[Y/N, 17:41]
I'll be there.

As Y/N ran to the bathroom with a huge smile to start getting ready, Jisoo sat on the couch of her dorm's living room with by her members, rereading their conversation.

"He found something of yours? After two years? Sounds like a lame excuse." Rosé scrunched up her nose, taking a bite from her apple.

"Yeah, unnie, he just wants to see you." Lisa wiggled her eyebrows, poking Jisoo's side, making her chuckle and slap her hand away.

Jisoo hid her face in her hands when she felt a blush creep up her cheeks.

Rosé laughed and threw a pillow in Jisoo's lap. "I can't believe you're still not over him."

"If he does something even slightly wrong or annoying, text me and I'll come to kick his ass personally." Jennie spoke from the other side of the room, while scrolling through her phone.

Jisoo rolled her eyes with a smile and patted Jennie's head as she walked by to get to her room. Before she could close the door, Lisa slipped into the room and walked directly to Jisoo's closet. "Let's look for a good outfit."

-

An hour later, Y/N was sitting in a booth in the back, tapping his fingers nervously on the table and looking around the place. The teddy bear sat next to him, hidden away so Jisoo wouldn't be able to see it right away.

The bell above the entrance door rang, making him look up. She was wearing a mask and a baseball cap but Y/N could still recognize her. Even covered up like that, Jisoo managed to take his breath away.

He waved a hand to catch her attention and gestured to the chair in front of him. When she reached him, Jisoo pulled down her mask and smiled, sitting down. "Hi."

"Hey." Y/N chuckled nervously and scratched his neck, feeling his heart bear uncomfortably fast. "I ordered coffee for you. I hope you still drink it like that."

Jisoo thanked him and took a sip from the mug sitting on the table as an uncomfortable silence fell over them.

Y/N cleared his throat, "You look great, by the way."

"Thank you. You too." Jisoo smiled shyly and lowered her face, trying to hide her blushing face. "What did you find that's mine?"

"Oh, right. Something very important." Y/N kept a straight face and reached for the stuffed bear, putting it on the table.

Jisoo stared at it for a few seconds, then busted out laughing. "Is that really it?"

Y/N chuckled, pushing it closer to her. "Yeah. I mean, I'm not his rightful owner and it felt wrong keeping it."

"Lisa was right." Jisoo took the teddy bear with both her hands, looking down at it.

"About what?"

She shook her head and put it next to her handbag. "So, what now?"

Y/N shrugged and smirked, pushing his nervousness aside. "I could buy you dinner."

Jisoo narrowed her eyes and leaned her elbows on the table, a small smile pulling at her lips. "Are you asking me on a date?"

"If I was, would you say yes?" Y/N answered, mimicking her actions.

Tapping her finger on her chin, Jisoo pretended to think about it. "I don't know. You should ask me to find out."

Y/N chuckled and took one of Jisoo's hands in both of his, making her smile. "Jisoo, will you do me the honor of giving me a second chance, and go on a date with me?"

Jisoo sighed and looked down at their intertwined hands. "Do you promise you won't make the same mistakes?"

Y/N freed one of his hands and brought it on Jisoo's cheek, stroking her soft skin with his thumb. "I promise."

"Then I'll be happy to go on a date with you." Jisoo smiled, leaning into Y/N's hand.

"Oh, by the way," Y/N grabbed the old pair of ugly sunglasses from the pocket of his coat. "these are yours too."

Jisoo gasped and put them on right away. "I can't believe you still have these."

"Yeah, I can't believe it either." Y/N chuckled at how ridiculous they looked.

"I'll keep them on for our date."

"Please don't."
